gave this a try on some light orange peel, and it did the job(after a while)… used it with a descent compound, and it helped level the surface without being overly aggressive… definitely takes some patience your technique is forgiving with these cuz its so light, but it’s a solid option if you don’t want to go straight to wet sanding and are nervous about cutting too much off…. durability seems pretty decent, and it held up well through a couple of smallish panels so far… overall, a good tool for refining paint without taking off too much material too quickly… it sure does take a while though and i think i may go back to polishing pads cuz im not that patient. if you are nervous and starting out go for it. these are the first denims i have used so it was new to me.. plus i got the 5″ which to me are too small for what they do

This denim polishing pad fits my craftsman 5 1/2 inch disc sander perfectly. I needed to smooth out some paint on the side of my boat, but I didn’t want to use a fine grit sandpaper because even with 1000 grit it would be too rough for what I wanted the result to be.
These denim polishing pads were the perfect solution for what I needed done. If you’re not sure or familiar of what these do they really smooth out rough patches that a buffer would be too soft to tackle. But definitely do a test spot first to make sure the end result is what you want. For my purposes I’m very happy with the results as well as the quality and functionality of these denim polishing pads!

HOW TO LOVE THESE PADS: I gently sanded the shine off the paint with 1,200 grit sandpaper (dry). I then used 2,500 grit to wet sand. Both of those stages took about two minutes on a small section. I then used this denim pad and Perfect Fifty cutting compound. I used about 2,500 RPMs on my buffer for around 3 minutes. The orange peel was completely gone and the paint was shiny. Keep reading because there is a slow way that gives great results. I think faster is better, but this pad and some compound will get the job done. It won’t do it it three minutes though.

The pad is 2,000 grit. Keep that in mind. It does work, but it might take more time than you think. Sandpaper is faster, but this does work.
SPEEDING UP THE PROCESS: I started out using the pad at around 2,000 RPMs but later I moved up to setting 6 and it worked even better and faster. Nice. High speeds kept the pad unclogged. I don’t know what the pad instructions say, but I would guess the Torq buffer/polisher moved at nearly 6,000 RPMs.
COMPOUND: I used Osren Perfect Fifty compound. I used a little at a time. Think of spots that were smaller than a dime and only 2 or 3 at once.
EXPERIMENTING: I am experimenting with this. I will repaint this panel even though it looks good. I want it as near to perfect as I can make it and I will be using this pad

I paint guitars, and in New Orleans the humidity can sometimes mess with the paint – sometimes orange peel is all but inevitable. This worked great to smooth out the surface – HUGE time saver over wet sanding.

I had high hopes for these denim orange peel remover pads, but they didn’t remove the orange peel from the painted surface. While they did smooth things out a bit, the texture was still visible after use. The pads are aggressive and provide a 2000-grit equivalent, which did help with leveling, but not as much as I anticipated. The hook-and-loop attachment worked well, and the pads stayed securely on my polisher. However, for really stubborn orange peel, these might not be enough on their own. I’d recommend them for light polishing or if you already have some experience with detailing, but they didn’t deliver the results I was looking for in terms of orange peel removal.

So they actually do work. Very slow though! I guess that makes it pretty safe.. took about 30.min of polishing with a torq da polisher on high. It did get it smooth as a mirror but it’s a lot of work. It would make more sense to knock it down with 2000 grit sp. And then finish with this pad.. but if your not comfortable touching your ride with sandpaper, this will get rig of the orange peel.. just takes a lot of passes.

Do Not waste your money on this. You can go in your closet and get a old pair of blue jeans and rub them on your car and get as good of results. I have wasted my money on a lot of things but this one is at the top of the list!!!
