This did not fit my 2006 Volvo S60 although it was a verified fit by Amazon. The filter element was too thick.

Fits perfectly in 2007 XC90. Here is the thing to note, the filters with charcoal are thicker than the paper ones by design by volvo.
The XC90 takes both. The slot closest to the inside of the cabin is the thinner slot for the paper type.
The slot closest to the engine is the thicker spot for charcoal filters.
This is why the cover is so big (if you stick your head under the dash you will see the two slots (I have been doing this on a few volvos over the years)
Pick your slot based on your filter, they both work.
This one is the thicker filter and has to go in the slot closest to the engine.
Remember the air flow is towards the engine (if you put in backwards the top angled part will not fit in properly).
This one also has cuts in the left and right sides which is great (the Mann has this too) it allows you to bend the filter as you insert it to follow the firewall (where the floor ends at top) as you insert it, makes it very easy to install (other brands don’t have these cuts in the outer side frame)
I like this one better than the Mann filter as it actually has a molded top and bottom, the Mann filter has a piece of foam on the top to take up the excess room, not a fan of breathing in air that passes over foam over time/heat degrading and breaking down.
In the future I will be getting the Mahle filter (vs Mann)

While system identified as a fit, this does not fit my 2007 V70. Checked all available slot options. The solid plastic frame and thickness do not work. Had to return. Volvo is such a PITA in their designed to make cabin air filters such a problem. I had system open and had to get a less preferred filter to finish the job. Seeing other reviews but not helpful for my purchase. Suggest if can check against VIN? Star rating based on lack of fit. Filter itself looked like what I was seeking and felt well made so disappointed.

Perfect fit in 2010 Volvo XC90 V8. This filter is the thicker of the two versions. Both will fit, either separate or together, and contemplated ordering the skinnier one for double filtration, but this one more than does the job on its own.

Clean air! Fits my 2002 S80 75th year Edition. If you haven’t changed your filter in 35k kilometers I recommend buying this. Helps keep my interior clean and breathing less pollution / tar on the way to work.

Perfect fit Volvo S60 2004, access is below glove box and you have 2 slots there. Slot close to floor was close with a tab and with a saw I opened, so this carbon filter can go. Normal filter goes at the 1st slot.
