I had my phone on this charger for 2.5 hours and it only increased my battery my 14% in those 2.5 hours. I had to stop at a gas station to get another charger since my phone was about to die.

I needed a new car mount charger for my phone that hold the mag charging phones.
This one had the option to stick to the dash or affix to the air vents, both options came in the box, I used the sticker version on the dash. Holds up so far even vertically. The mount is a rotation ball so you can adjust the angle and direction. The magnet is very strong, but not too strong where you have to pry your phone off the charger.

Strong, magnetic charger, but does not have the fastest charging speeds. If you have a shallow vent, the vent clip does not work very well because it’s long, but the mount will work just fine.

This MagSafe charger is really easy to set up, easy to use, and has a strong magnet to hold your phone. It charges pretty quickly and is very functional. It has a pretty long cord to plug it in. It also has a way to attach it to either your air vent or with an adhesive to your dashboard or anywhere else you wish to attach it to in your car. I like that I can easily attach my phone to it and remove it at the beginning and end of drives. It also looks pretty nice and at $15 is a good price.

I have tried a number of wireless car chargers over the past month with varying results and the combination of standards can be super confusing. What I’ve discovered through trial and error is that there are multiple pieces to the solution and if they’re not all lined up you will not get fast charging.
First, obviously your phone has to support fast charging. If it doesn’t no charger in the world is going to fast charge it. You’ll need a more modern phone. I’m using a 2024 Moto G Power which supports fast wireless.
Aside from the phone, there are essentially two main issues at play: the first is the USB adapter–the tubular thing that plugs into what we used to call a cigarette lighter but what I guess is now called an auxiliary outlet. At any rate, that adapter has to provide enough wattage, which for fast wireless is 15W. By comparison, standard USB adapters provide 5W. The fast charging standards I’ve seen so far are QC (Qualcomm) and PD (Power Delivery). QC supposedly only works with Qualcomm processors but it seems to fast charge my non-Qualcomm phone so clearly my understanding is still not completely. PD requires a USB-C cable, which is pretty standard on modern devices, and is supposedly compatible with more devices.
The second is the business end–the thing your phone directly contacts. From what I’ve gleaned these also come in various flavors: QI2 and MagSafe. MagSafe is the Apple improvement with uses magnets to align the charger with the phone. However, the QI2 standard also uses magnets so the difference is less clear.
Two other issues that may perhaps come into play are the USB cable itself. If it’s an old or thin cable it may not be rated for higher wattage necessary to fast charge. The other is the case (if any) you have on your phone. I specifically bought a MagSafe compatible case which has a metal conductor embedded in the plastic.
So with all that, I finally hit the right chord using this charging device and the QC USB adapter I already had. This charger is a bit bulkier than others I’ve tried, but has ventilation ports presumably to keep it cool. Others I’ve tried definitely generate heat so I’m thinking airflow is a good thing. The magnet is quite strong and definitely sufficient to hold the phone securely in place while driving.
Anyway, I’m just glad to finally have a fast charging solution that works! Btw, the cup holder adapter does not come with this device but I found the ball and socket connector is has was compatible with the gooseneck mount I got with another charger.

I like the looks of this charger, which is mainly why I ordered it. However, it does not seem to work reliably with my iPhone 15 Pro Max which is in a leather case. The magnet on this is not nearly as strong as my other charger so it does fall off on bumpy roads. It also doesn’t always enable the charging capabilities either. As stated, I do have a case on my phone but I have several other Magsafe chargers which all work without any issues.
