Perfect fit for my 2007 Chevy Tahoe. Love having a copper crew washer to help seal against the old pan unlike the original Bolt.

Even during normal operation, little bits of metal can get into your car’s oil system. As these metal pieces circulate around with the movement of oil, they could conceivably lodge someplace where they could cause trouble. The oil drain plug on many cars has a magnet attached to the end that extends into the oil pan, in order to capture and hold any of those little bits that flow past it. If your car’s current oil drain plug doesn’t have a magnet on its inner end, consider getting one of these magnetic replacements. Install it the next time you change your car’s engine oil–and then, on future oil changes, check the magnet for metal bits it may have trapped, and wipe them off. (A few tiny bits isn’t too concerning, but if you’re seeing a lot of them, there may be something serious going wrong with your engine that should be looked into further…)
This replacement plug seems well-made, has a strong magnet attached, and comes with five “crushable” copper washers that form a good seal when the plug is reinstalled. Use a new washer each time you change your oil.
Before ordering one of these for your car, check your service manual (or a trustworthy online automotive site) to ensure you’re ordering one with the right thread size and pitch. And when you install it, be sure it screws easily and smoothly into the drain hole in your engine’s oil pan. If it doesn’t go easily, then STOP! You don’t want to cross-thread it or otherwise damage the threaded drain hole. Measure the threads on your original drain plug if possible, and then reinstall it until you can obtain a magnetic one with the proper thread size.)

While the M14 threads fit my oil pan, you can see from the photos it doesn’t offer the same surface contact.
The original bolt has a wider base and a recessed area the gasket/washer will sit. This magnetic one does not.
It comes with copper washers and fits the aluminum ones I have, but I think I’ll stick with the gasket as Ford intended.
The length is a bit shorter, but the original has excess anyway. I’m not worried about it being too short.
I would rate it 4 stars, but I feel it’s on me for not checking the photos. The magnet is fairly strong and I’m able to stick the bolt to the pan. I hear these are best used as a wear gauge than actual protection against metal filings.
If your oil drain bolt is the same shape, you should have no problem here. The construction is solid, the threads fit well, and its a decent price for a replacement. It’ll definitely work if you’re looking for a replacement.

purchased for 2009 Scion TC – had too much play when installed (slight wiggle) compared to the original oil drain plug – I felt that tightening it may strip the threads, ion the oil pan as such did not use. I missed the return date, c’est la vie.
