When we first began to use this cap, my wife struggled to get it off. Although I was able to figure it out, a few months later, it did not come off so easily. It took me 2 minutes to get it unlocked and off. Not something you need to deal with during winter or when you are low on gas.

I have bought locking gas caps in the past to help prevent fuel tampering with no issue. I live in the Northeast and have colder mornings sometimes below zero. Other products have never failed under these conditions however this product did. The lock itself froze and the mechanics of the cap itself have failed causing the cap to be stuck on and just spins in place even unlocked. I had to sledge the cap off my truck and replace the fuel fill pipe due to damage. DO NOT BUY THIS!! There are ample better made products on the market far better than this cheaply made gas cap.

Do not buy this, wish I would have read the reviews. Put it on my 2016 Chevy Malibu. Tested taking off, and COULD NOT GET IT OFF. Three other people tried, could not get it off. Thank god, found a you tube video, got it off. Total junk, waste of money!
