  1. Darla K.

Works really fine and easy to install.

  2. Mr. Atomic

The tailgate on my 2012 Ford Escape was becoming more difficult to open. Original struts were worn out. Found these gas struts and watched the video showing installation. Took less than 5 minutes to remove old and install new parts.
Tailgate now opens like new. Make sure to remove and install one at a time unless you have someone holding the tailgate up. Install by attaching top first. The strut is about 1/4 inch longer than the old strut since it is fully charged. lift the tailgate a smidge and push the bottom connector on and Bob’s your uncle!

  3. Jennifer K.

We replaced the back gate lift on our Ford Escape and these worked great. Just like OEM and fairly easy to install.

  4. Karin Nevermann

Good replacement, had to reuse the metal clips that were on my original set, be careful not to stretch them out while removing them.
Stiff, ease of opening rear hatch.

  5. WatchMaster

Worked perfectly on my 2012 Ford Escape. Other reviews complain they don’t fit- these are for the lift gate door NOT the window. I propped the lift gate up on a 6ft privacy fence gate and still had to push the door up to to install (so you need to make sure the door is open as far as it will go) but was easy to just pop the old ones off and pop the new ones on to the brackets. Once I figured out I didn’t need any tools they took about 5 minutes to install.

  6. John K.

I have a 2012 Ford Escape and these fit perfectly and lifted the tailgate easily.

Most important is to fashion a broomstick or 2″x2″ pole to hold tailgate open to max position. Once you remove clip on each end of old strut. Pop it off. Pop bottom end of new strut on bottom ball. Now for the tricky part. A 2nd person might help. Try to pop the top end of strut on tailgate ball. If it doesn’t pop right on, the have 2nd person hold pole while you either lift or lower tailgate to place tailgate ball at center of the pocket at top of new strut all the while pushing the strut end against the ball while also lifting or lowering the tailgate so the strut end almost falls onto the ball with a SATISFYING CLICK. TAKES ABOUT 10 MINUTES. SAME PROCESS OTHER SIDE. Biggest puzzlement was figuring out that spring clips around each end of the old strut need prying off with a small sturdy screwdriver.

  8. Karin Nevermann

I like the easy opening liftgate and stability

  9. Amazon Customer

Easy to install. Proper fit for 2010 Ford Escape

  10. Amazonuser

Fit my 2008 Ford Escape perfectly it would have been nice to have a simple instructions with them. At first I was trying to pull the clips out but then I realized they simply slide up to install. I also found it easiest to get a 6 ft ladder to hold the door up while installing, you have to push up hard on the door to get the strut in also you can adjust the strut by turning it. Overall a good product for a good price
