Bought these and replaced my original lift supports on 2013 Nissan Leaf S. Quick YouTube and eas done replacing in about 10min. Would suggest a second friend to hold hatch but if you’re like me… I just touched it out.
So far so good… 1-month in. Hope it lasts at least 2-3 years.

I’m not super mechanical, but it took me 10 minutes to install these on my 2013 Leaf, including watching a 4 minute YouTube how-to video. Super easy, super strong, super struts!

Prices sure have come down on gas lifts in the last decade. I replaced a set on a 2008 Pathfinder years ago and each lift was $50 each! These more affordable lifts fit my LEAF perfectly and give the perfect amount of lift assist to my manual hatchback and I don’t hit my head anymore. Say to install and it takes 30 seconds longer to remove the old ones. Just clean the balls on the hatch, maybe add some lithium grease to the socket, then just pop them right on and you’re done! I did it all by myself but you might want to ask someone to hold the hatch open for you if you’re afraid of getting hit by it (the hatch is heavier than you would think!). It’s been three weeks and everything is holding up fine. The new lifts are strong, so just be prepared when you lift your hatch that you don’t take one on the chin!

It fits and works as intended BUT way to strong. It almost launches the trunk into your face when you open it. Maybe after a few months it will wear down a bit and not be so strong.

Fit my 2015 Nissan LEAF perfectly. Easy to follow instructions and easy to install. Took about 5 minutes.

Hatchback strut replacement easy and fits like a glove, 15 minute job and big saving compared to original equipment

Two of the four replacement pistons’ clips were unreasonably difficult to reposition to allow installation. I had purchased specialty tools to supplement my screwdriver collection but ended up having to force these two clips “open” with my largest screwdriver – marring the pistons in the process. IMO, this was a manufacturing glitch. The pistons are in and work, but these clips were a problem.
Otherwise, my experience with the product – selection, delivery and instructions- was good.

Fit perfectly. Easy installation. Make sure you have proppted the tailgate open prior to removing either hydraulic.
