The part came with all the bolts needed to install. I ordered twice prior from a different company and they did not include the bolts and one was not cut properly so would not slide onto the shaft. This one fit perfectly.

It went on and fit just like the old one. The only problem I had was getting the steering shaft to go back down to get this joint to seat right. It took about 2 hours from start to finish with the issue I had.

The clamping bolt did not fit through the notch in the steering axle. Required modifications to fit.

It’s look like not new but it work and fit better than dorman product. No more knuckling sound or pop sound. It’s perfect fit for Ford escape 2008 XLT 2.3L. Recommended this product.
You don’t have to take the bolt underneath.
Just start the car and turn to the steering wheel to the left and turn off the car completely. Make sure it visible to see the bolt when you open the hood and using 20-24 inches 3/8 extension and 13mm socket or depends on you bolt size. After take out the old Universal-join shaft. Put the new Universal-Joint on upper first and then put to the lower shafts… Tight the bolt and it’s will work perfectly. Before for install, you should take the 14mm out from the new Universal-Joint shaft first and assembly it.

For the price was I getting what I paid for? The short answer is that it is almost the equivalent of an OEM replacement with a twist. It fit easily only if you removed the two bolts first. Then slip on the item onto both the steering rack and then the steering column. Felt like it took me forever to install until I realized that by removing the two bolts first before the install, then the item will slip on much more easily. Once installed, the steering to my son’s 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid was just like new. Much better handling and control. No more sloppy steering from the worn-out factory unit.
