MelloPi –
The bearing housing is plastic and the boot bumper does not stay seated in the stock strut mount. Sticking with a stock OEM product next time. The parts work okay but are not what I expected.

These went into a 1999 pathfinder 4WD to 12/98.
Perfect fit and durability. The same quality as the OEM it replaced.

First I have to say that I have not yet installed these, but I checked them out, and the plastic boot looks like it may last all of 3 months on my truck if I am lucky. Changing strut boots is not something I want to do that often, a better quality part is worth the extra expense I think. The box I received appeared to have been opened so I am guessing that the previous buyer did not like the boots either and sent them back. I am looking for some rubber boots before I decide on sending these back. Additionally the instructions are generic and the kit includes a sleeve which was not shown on them. I will figure it out, but it just seems shoddy to send parts in a kit with instructions that do not mention them.
The only positives are that the kit included the nuts and torque specs for them.
Update 6/11/2012: I am sending these back since I have found genuine parts for only slightly more. The genuine boot for my vehicle is rubber and I am sure it should last a good deal longer than the KYB ones.

lasted 24 hours to fail.

I ordered two of these kits that were listed as Raybestos brand but I was sent two totally different parts, I don’t even know what the other part was? I returned the wrong part for a replacement only to find out they were out of stock. so I ended up with 1 Raybestos kit and 1 KYB kit, The appear to be the exact same parts except the plastic bearing color. one gray and one black?
once I had a pair they worked out great
