After wrestleing this shock for an hour and removing my sway bar. I found that the Bell at the top of the shock obstructs tightening of the bolts. And the non removeable boot obstructs the view during installation. The OEM/Bilstein ACDelco shock available has a removalble boot and no obstructions to the bolt mounts, and the bolt holes are full holes aiding installation. I would never be able to install this without removing the frame members for the sway bar mounts. That is not even a guarantee that the shock could be bolted and it would have had to be with an open wrench. This shock does not fit ZQ8 and the ZQ8 equipped extremes- Period. I would rate this zero stars if I could. I was able to reinstall the ACDelco 540-44 in a minute with no drama what so ever. Now I have to reassemble my Truck and wait for the right part.

KYB MonoMax are some of the best no nonsense shocks on the market. I bought these for my 2003 Chevy S10 4WD. Everything I buy for my truck is ACDelco if available, except for the shocks. Comfortable and yet sturdy ride = confidence.

Excellent product at a great price and they work as good as they look. Installation was a snap.
    Highly recommend this product.

I was replacing the original Bilstein shocks that came with the truck and didn’t want to sacrifice anything. The Bilstein’s were hard to find so I went with these knowing that KYB has a good reputation (the cost was a bit less too). I’ve had them on my vehicle for about 6 weeks and the ride and handling are exactly what I hoped for – very controlled. I would not hesitate to recommend these to anyone looking for an alternative to Bilstein quality.

Used for 1998 gmc 4×4 with no lift, replacing some worn out monroe shocks all around, along with stabilizer links/bushings etc to correct sloppy steering/body roll which as part of the replacement they worked. Now after about 3 years they are not holding up, I put about 10k miles on them before I cracked a stabilizer link to the control arm. Now I need to replace them as well as the links, and the rear end is sinking as it was before I installed these. 3 years might not be bad if I was doing 10k a year but I barely did 3k a year.

I Installed those in a 1998 GMC Sonoma easy to install (if you have the right tools) Thick, Heavy no tested with heavy loads on my bed liner yet, strong ride jumps a little bit =) thanks KYB Amazon very happy with the price and quality…

These shocks work great, they were a little hard to get on. I would suggest zip tying the shocks so that they are all the way dow, so they fit under the car.
