Nice finish. Seems to function fine, except the USB charging ports don’t accept an USB cable to be connected by pushing it into the port perpendicularly (which is the normal way you would push a cable into the port). The faceplate of the ports and the actual ports are slightly misaligned. To make a cable connect to the USB charger, you need to push it in at a 10-20 degree angle, then it will enter the port and straighten out.
I had the seller send me another one, but the replacement had the same problem. I think it was designed with this flaw due to space limitations for the faceplate. Usable, but annoying.
Also, I think it would be useful if the seller put more information about the 3 components (e.g. how much current is the power switch and 12V socket rated for?)

Hook this up to my 12 V life pro battery used it to plug my refrigerator and worked seemlessly love the on and off button. Also love the voltage read out.

I bought this to install in my boat. I was looking for a USB charger that didn’t draw any power when a USB device wasn’t plugged in. After searching for hours on Amazon I found that there isn’t an option for that. They either have some kind of built-in light or like this one, a digital display. I figured that this was the next best thing since it has a switch and at least the display is somewhat useful.
I tested the parasitic draw of just the display and it is 16.02mA at 12.67 volts. The display seems to be somewhat close to accurate. My Fluke meter read 12.856 volts and the gauge read 13.0 volts. I also checked it with a Cen-Tech meter and it read 12.67 volts and the gauge read 12.8 volts. It appears that the gauge reads slightly higher.
I tested the draw from the USB port. With my phone plugged in and charging the amp reading was 451mA at 12.67 volts. To get a rough estimate of the amperage going to the phone I multiplied 451mA X 12.67volt(battery at the time) = 5.714 watts. I divided that by 5 volts assuming that the output to the phone is 5 volts. I cannot confirm that but it should be close to that. This equals 1.142 amps to the phone. There is some loss due to the conversion process of 12 volts to 5 volts. I don’t know what that is, but if there was no loss the amperage would be 1.142 amps.
I plugged in an iPad Mini along with my phone and the Fluke meter read 1.1 amp @ 12.67 volts. which equals 13.937 watts/5volts = 2.787 amps. Again, this doesn’t account for conversion loss. The Amazon sales/info page says a max of 1.5 amps per USB. According to my calculations it is pretty close to the amperage they claim.
As far a build quality it seems to pretty good. My only concern is the longevity of the accordion boot around the switch. I am willing to bet that with any prolonged time in the sun it will deteriorate.
There is another review about the wiring being 18 awg to the unit, and then 16 awg going to each device. This is true and seems somewhat strange. It’s backward thinking, but I’m sure it will be fine. If I have any concerns I will replace the wire with my own. I have to run power and ground wires to the unit anyway.

This power outlet works great where you have a need in an older vehicle. I have added one to a 1967 Saab 96, a 1973 Saab 99, a race car, and a 2000 Fleetwood motorhome. It allows me to plug my CPAP machine into a 12v outlet next to the bed in the motorhome. The voltmeter is a great help in checking battery power in the cars, and the auxiliary batteries in the motorhome.

It works exactly as intended. Easy to fit in small spaces and can be disassembled from the faceplate to use as modular components very nice. Has two USB ports high speed charging and has a nice light glow that’s not too bright. After hundreds of flips on the switch turning it off and on and hundreds of USB inserts and removal it seems to be very durable.
