I’ve been using K&N filters for +15 years for all my vehicles with zero issues. This filter for my 2011 MDX was very easy to install, improvement to the sporty engine “growl” when put your foot into it, and provided a tiny jump in combined mpgs (anything in the high teens is outstanding for the MDX). I usually clean the filter once a year in the spring because it is extremely dusty/sandy in NM and I put about +20,000 miles per year on vehicles. I would highly recommend this filter if you planning to keep your vehicle for +5 years and/or put a lot miles on your car.

I used to get asked every time I was at the stealership for oil changes about my filter and I kept putting it off. They have a special now for both engine and cabin filter for $99, used to be $150 . Great deal, I should jump on it right? I debated a little, it will cost me about $65 to buy the filter so it’s only $35 for their time. For anyone debating it, I timed it. Took me 2.49 minutes to change the cabin filter (including emptying glove box) and right at 10 min to change the engine filter. This was my first time so I was being really careful. I bet I could do it in half the time next time around. Be careful with the screws on the air box, I broke one over tightening it. I will buy a replacement screw for $3; still way ahead. Hopefully they will quit bugging me with the up sell. Hope this helps.

I have used K&N products for 20 years. They pay for themselves in better fuel economy and you don’t need to replace them…ever. Just clean after 60k miles and they are as good as new. Plus, the lower air resistance changes the pitch of your exhaust, and gives you a little more oomph from the stoplight.

純正と厚みが違うので焦りましたが問題なく取り付け出来ました。
吸気音はやはりK&Nの方が良く聞こえます。
パワー的には上がってるとは思いますが分かりません。

Purchased this K&N filter for a 2010 Acura MDX. The filter is a direct replacement to the factory cotton filter and installation took less than 10 minutes. Fuel mileage seems to have increased by about 1mi/gallon and throttle response is better overall. The sound under full throttle is a little throatier but only slightly and actually sounds pretty good. I have used these filters on multiple vehicles and despite rumors that they allow fine dirt to pass through the filter I can tell you this is not true. The last K&N I used was on a 2001 Honda Accord and the car had over 160,000 miles on it before it was totaled by another driver. There was never any indication of dirt/dust bypassing the filter and getting into the intake manifold, this would be evident as you would see buildup in the intake pipe aft of the filter. In my experience the filters do increase fuel mileage, performance and save a lot of money over the life of a vehicle. These are easy to clean and re-oil and I usually do this while changing the oil or doing other maintence. Our local auto parts stores did not have any filters in stock for our Acura, K&N or otherwise. I won’t have to worry about trying to find a filter in stock next time service is due. I recommend purchasing a K&N filter cleaning kit along with the filter as you will need the cleaner and oil it comes with to maintence the filter. I highly recommend these filters as factory replacement if you are looking for a little more power, better fuel economy and don’t wish to shell out close to $20.00 every time you have to replace a standard filter.

K&N is obviously well known in the automotive world–especially when it comes to motorsports, and they can attribute that to excellent marketing and brand recognition. However, with modern cars and sensitive MAF sensors, I hesitate to recommend oiled filters like this one.
I have this installed on my 2019 Explorer Sport. I could feel slightly better throttle response and it does provide a slightly more noticeable “sucking” noise under the hood–if you’re into that type of thing. I’m certain it filters as well as they say it does, but the filter was heavily oiled out of the box–as all K&N filters seem to be these days–which can be a concern. Unfortunately, there aren’t any real dry alternatives out there for this vehicle, but if you go this route just keep an eye on things and if your vehicle starts to run a little funky, check your MAF sensors first.
