Installation was easy, took me a minute of online searching to figure out that these re-usable filters have “filter oil” and was initially alarmed by the red goop that came in the packaging. Installation was easy, since the orientation is one way. It did change my engine sound a little bit, I’m pretty indifferent to the change. I bought it since it was approximately the same price as a disposable filter, plus it matches my interior, not like that matters.

Ho acquistato questo filtro perché ero stufo di cambiare filtri di carta ogni 6 mesi come da libretto, con questo ho risolto ogni problema. il filtro arriva nella sua scatola chiuso in un involucro di plastica, dato che già è ricoperto con dell’olio per trattenere la polvere vi consiglio di installarlo utilizzando dei guanti.

While I do not buy into the fact that it will increase any horsepower or mileage of the car, putting in this new filter instantly made my car seem more responsive when the put down on gas. It is a small difference and may have probably been brought in by changing to any good filter. I went with the brand name and other good reviews to choose this one. The real incentive to buy this filter was that I would be using a better filter and would require to change it less frequently.
Also, my car’s seems to sound better when it is under a lot of load, after changing the filter. It feels good to hear the 300 horses roar!
Fit: I bought this for my Gen Coupe and the fit was perfect. I changed it myself following some online advice and it was a piece of cake.

I did this instead of the cold air intake because its cheaper and the factory airbox is the best way to go. Otherwise if you get the cold ait intake you lose some low end torque on your vehicle and you have to change the O2 sensor because you have a different amount of air flow coming through it which requires change.

What can say about this other then it fits and works? I don’t think a filter will give me any noticeable horsepower, but it does have a noticeable sound difference from the stock filter. Could just be placebo effect, but I’m happy with the clean and reuse side.

So I have these installed for couple of weeks now and upon my first installation I really did feel my car running smoother after installing these. I started to track my mileages and I really didn’t see any difference. I also tried to hear the sound difference over the stock. I really didn’t notice a difference. Keep in mind everything else on my car is stock.
These are really easy to install over the stock air filter. It is a direct replacement and when you hold it in your hands you can definitely feel the difference.

I was a bit dubious at first as I found one of these at the local AutoZone store of course I held off and checked Amazon first and glad that I did as the price was $25 less for the same exact product plus free shipping. The change over was very easy and there was plenty of space no skinned knuckles. I noticed a significant increase in HP on my Genesis Coupe from the factory installed air filter. Save time and money and do it yourself, the Dealer will charge you one hour labor to do a five minute job you can do yourself.

I was skeptical that a cheap, easy upgrade would do much to improve performance, but I had to see what the hype was about and now I know. After the installation (which took all of 30 seconds), I noticed an immediate effect in my V6 Genesis Coupe; makes acceleration feel effortless; my engine can breathe freely 🙂 I also love the idea of only having to clean it every 50,000 miles rather than replace it with another crappy filter. Ordering one of these for my Tacoma now too!

From experience i know K&N products produce a gain, although minimal. I had a full CAI installed on my previous vehicle, Hummer H3 and noticed more MPG, sound and power on the highway.
……BUT, this isn’t a CAI so i was skeptical at first. The Genesis Coupe 3.8 have a sufficient box filter, so i figured i’d buy this K&N drop in and save $200 vs a full CAI. I also did the “carbon filter delete”, which everyone with a 3.8 should do… Combined you gain a bit of power, although not much. Responsiveness is noticeable enough to justify purchase…
also noticed a bit more sound, but that can be attributed to the K&N mixed with the removal of the carbon filter found only on the 3.8, not the 2.0.
