Needed to change my fob battery out. This is an exact replacement and comes with tools to open it up.

This “kit” includes everything you need to change the battery in your Subaru fob.
To be honest, I’ve never felt a “kit” was needed for this job – just a new battery, and a minute of time – you can even use the spare key in lieu of a screwdriver to pop your fob open.
That said, I suppose some find it useful to have everything they need in one small pack, and you won’t need to forage in the junk drawer for any “tools”, or anything extra.
I changed the battery in my fob using this kit, and it worked as intended. It’s hard to guage the quality of a button cell battery, but it made my remote perform, as best as I can tell, like new with regards to range and responsiveness.
Is it worth the small extra cost over simply buying the battery? Not to me, but that’s my opinion, not a comment on the product itself. So, 5 stars.

. . . and we were parked deep in the wilderness outside of Durango. We heard huffing and what may best be described as a deep growl. The vegetation was thick and we could hear something big moving towards our campsite. Preferring to eat than to be eating, we grabbed the keys to hop in the car. Why did we lock it? There weren’t any humans around for miles. Only whatever . . . monster . . . was approaching our camp.
The car wouldn’t unlock. We kept mashing the button with our thumbs, creating an indentation of the fob on the meat of our fingers. The sounds were getting closer and closer. Just as we were about to scream, unable to get in the car, a large buck elk wandered into our camp. He took a look at us and seemed to smile . . . laughing at us for being afraid. Laughing at us for not being able to get in our car.
Dawn arrived and we were able to better assess our situation. We figured out the battery had died in our key fob. Had that been a bear instead of an elk, our lack of foresight would have led us to disaster. So don’t be like us. Don’t get eaten by an elk. Buy these batteries and keep them in your glove box. Nobody wants to get laughed at by a wild animal.

I didn’t know this kit was a thing. I had replaced the battery in the FOB before in the past, but this kit made changing the battery easier this time.
Pros: The pick that came in the kit made it easier to pop off the battery from the FOB. The mini screwdriver also helped open up the FOB. The battery works.
Cons: None. Everything in the kit can be used to help you change the battery.
I have secured the kit in an area where I can reuse it in the future.

When I saw this kit I knew I had to have it for my Glucose Meter! I wish all battery packs came with tools. With this kit I no longer have to struggle getting into the battery compartment, getting the battery out, etc. This company seriously needs to think of repackaging kits for glucose meters, they’d make a fortune. Anyways, these are the exact batteries that I needed so it was a win win for me. I am thrilled to have this kit on hand for in the future with the spare battery that came with it.
