Mounted to a 212cc engine and worked great. Already had an existing jackshaft setup and all I needed was the pulleys and belt. Had to adjustment the alignment and the belt was a tight fit. Now the kart is up and running again. Kids are super happy they can ride again.

I’ve been “resifying” a Manco Big Cat, and the torque converter on it was in sad shape, the belt shredded and all the springs rusted. This looks to be an exact match for the one that was on it so I no longer have any thoughts of trying to fix what I have.

Tight fit the shaft to the Coleman k-196 go-kart engine.
No fit on the 5/8″ shaft reverse gear box has. Bore is too small
Also the drive closes too much and the belt rides at the top

So to newbies like myself turns out others don’t use primary and secondary clutch lingo its driver clutch being primary clutch and driven clutch being secondary clutch. This one is a very tight fit and dosent go onto the engine crank but the jackshafr crank. I hammered it onto the motor only to figure out it dont go there and I bought wrong one going to be hell to get it off. But thats not their fault. Hopefully it helps someone to avoid making same mistake.

This has a nice high ratio, so it’s perfect for maximizing speed. I’ll be using it on an industrial machine, but it would be awesome on a go-kart or any other engine powered machine that occasionally struggles under load. The parts look to be high quality. It’s thick heavy steel, so this will no-doubt take a beating and keep on going. If you want the ultimate speed and torque upgrade, get this. Enjoy.

I had difficulty installing the stationary half of the driver hub to the crankshaft, unless it was supposed to be installed with a hydraulic press. Upon inspection I measured the embedded key at 0.190” where it meets the bore diameter – I guess the broaching could have been better. I ended up lightly filing the mating part of the crankshaft (the sharp edges of the keyway) and was able to eventually get the stationary half to slide on. The brass bushing seemed to have adequate clearance and no binding when rotating and sliding by hand. Unfortunately I don’t have the rest of the parts to do a complete install for a more thorough review. If you’re getting this for a repair, for almost the price of a new torque converter kit, you get the two drums and a belt. It’s probably worth it to get an entire new kit and freshen up the bearings, jackshaft, sprocket and hardware while you’re at it.
