This vent mount ball is secure and discrete – doesn’t block much of the vent, and has minimal vibration.
After using dozens of different plastic mounts, this is a game changer.
Highly recommended. At $45 (as of this review) it’s definitely more money than the plastic ones, but I would buy another one without hesitation.

I previously had a mount that attached to the “coin holder” in my expedition and due to the weight it eventually started falling down and no amount of adhesive would help it stay in the Florida heat so I started looking at other options.
I love the way this mounts to the vent and is out of the way. It seems much more stable than my previous mount, and can be installed on either the driver or passenger side vent depending on your needs.
My only complaint is that the ball on the mount end isn’t quite completely tight. No matter how much you tighten the arm it will still move up and down, like the ball needs to be a millimeter or two larger. The end holding the magnet for the phone is tight and won’t budge. For me it works because of the position I prefer it to be, and I added a small piece of double sided adhesive tape so it’s fine, but a slight change to the size of the ball or a rubberized coating of the balls would be helpful to prevent any slipping.

This is far and away the best phone mount for our 2015 F-150, and provides easy use of your phone, while not obstructing the use of dash components and and vents, or blocking areas on your windshield.
We’ve had a few different mounts for our truck, and this one is easily the best option. It is a little pricy compared to more “universal fit” mounts, but given that it’s a “per vehicle” fitment, it makes sense.
The last option we had, which was a massage, adhesive coated suction cup mount, we liked a lot in regards to functionality and how well everything stayed attached. We just didn’t like that the only place we could mount it, given the size, was down below the vent on the driver’s side dash panel. This put the phone really low, and not only really unsafe, but was just not convenient at all.
We’ve had windshield mount arms in the past, but never had luck to them sticking for long, and would eventually fail in the Texas heat we have pretty much year round.
This one completely eliminates both major issues we faced when it came to our truck, which is the overall lack of space to put a phone mount.
It mounts out of the way of the air vent, sandwiching the plastic of the vent panel between to plates, that when fully secured, is extremely stable. Our truck stays on the road, but if you do anything off road, this would be your best option to make sure everything stays where it’s supposed to.
The magnet is super strong, and at first, we had a bit of difficulty getting our phones off, but learned you have to slide these types of mounts off instead of pull them, as they will not want to release.
The build quality is top tier, and getting this in the right angle and position is a breeze.

I have been on the search for the perfect phone car mount for a long time, going back over a decade. I have used solutions built specifically for certain models, and I’ve even gone as far as having a custom installer integrate a third-party mount. Every option I have found always has drawbacks, such as loose connection points, poor placement, or ugly designs. The design of this mount for Ford trucks is the absolute best mount with no downsides.
The base plate is metal with a solid feel. The clamp fits perfectly into the corner of either center vent, and it clamps down using a single bolt. The part that contacts the front of the vent has a rubber pad, and it left no marks when we switched from left to right vents. I tightened the bracket until there wasn’t any wobble, and it was sturdy. It is probably possible to overtighten and do some damage, so I tightened it carefully.
The standard ball size works with all of our other mounts, and I decided to use it with an existing magnetic mount. The included one is sturdy with an articulating segment, but that isn’t as low profile as I would like, and the ball design requires that the magnetic mount be used with the adapter arm. When everything is tightened down, it does not wobble at all. It is so well integrated that it has an OEM look.
I am blown away by this mount, and I plan to use it for the life of my vehicle. I love using any of my mounts and chargers that connect with a ball mount.
