I wasn’t sure if an 18V lithium battery could jump start a car battery since the voltages don’t match up, but it works. I’m not sure if this is bad for the M18 battery, but I don’t do it often.
One other problem with this cable system is the cost of an M18 battery. You will basically need to have the battery with you in your car along with this jumper cable. But with the cost of an M18 battery that is now away from your tool kit, you could buy a dedicated jumper battery.

Started my lawnmower right up

This works great when I have accidentally left a light on in my car and my battery needs a little jump, especially when no other car is around. It’s small and compact and does the job it was meant to do. Finally a way my husband’s tools and charger to work for me too!!

I honestly didn’t think you would be able to jump a car with the battery designed for my drills. It really makes it easy as well not having to pull another car up close enough to get the cables from one car to the other. The cables are thick 8 awg copper to be exact and the clamps are heavy duty as well. These were definitely made from high quality materials

was a little skeptical but use this and an M18 bvatery to jump off my 88 forrunner that was completelty dead, hooker it up to the vehicle battery and as fast as I could get back in it started rite up took less then 1 bar of power. All s0 used it on my F-150 as well that was not completly dead.

It needs a shut off switch as if you leave the battery plugged in it can short out and very hard to pull out as it might loosen up after a while.

I’ll say right off that I was skeptical of this when I first ordered this but that changed once I had this in hand. The cables are thick and robust to handle the amps like normal jumper cables are (I think these are even a little thicker). I’m not sure what gauge size these are, I just know it will handle the current and the cables don’t get hot at all. Also, the cables are a good length at about 4ft long. They are long enough to safely sit the battery pack end somewhere where it won’t fall down into your engine bay. As far as the adapter side, it works just like if you were installing a battery into your tool, it’s that easy.
As far as power, that’s going to depend on the M18 battery that you have and how much charge it has. I have to say that because I’m sure some idiot will complain it’s not powerful enough or something (today’s world, unfortunately).
Also, don’t leave a battery connected with this as it doesn’t have any On/Off switch on it (connecting / disconnecting the battery is your On/Off). And as best I can tell, there’s no over-current protection of any kind on this thing so once your vehicle starts, disconnect this as soon as possible to prevent damage to your battery or vehicle’s electrical system.
All this said, this works and it’s handy to have if you already have M18 brand batteries.
