Easier if attached to hood first, then to inner fender. Very Good performance for opening lift with strong support.

Excellent product and fits perfectly. Super easy to install. Took less than 10 mins. Tip: install the screws first into the fender and hook and then pop the struts into them. Much easier/quicker.

These hood struts were very easy to install, took maybe 20 minutes for both sides. These are a perfect fit for the 2002 Lexus GS 300. Out of curiosity, I got a quote for the replacement from the dealer, which was about 10 times the cost of these struts. The hood now stays up, but does require a little effort to close, which is better than it coming down on my head!

The hood struts were exactly the ones I needed. Amazon provided the choices that fit my 2002 Lexus GS 300. They came promptly. They came with good instructions. They were easy to replace. I can’t speak towards longevity but up to this point the struts and the process was 5 star.

High quality replacement part at a VERY good price. These hood lifters fit my 2005 GS300 perfectly and came with all parts needed to replace my old, worn-out lifters. The installation instructions were basically non-existent, but a quick Google search pulled up some sorta-useful YouTube videos. As a word of caution. every YouTube video I found indicated that it was necessary to use a bench grinder to remove the old ball fittings from the old lifters because the replacement lifters did not include these parts. I’m glad that I did not watch these videos before purchasing my lifters because I would have been reluctant to tackle this job by myself. HOWEVER, THESE LIFTERS COME WITH ALL PARTS NEEDED TO INSTALL THEM SO DON’T BE MISLEAD BY WHAT’S ON YOUTUBE REGARDING OTHER PRODUCTS. My new lifters work great!!

Purchased these for my 1999 Toyota Aristo that arrived with worn out original struts. Super easy to install. They’re a bit stiff when closing the hood but its way better than having the hood fall on me.

Most of the YouTube instructions indicate that you’ll just have to pull a little clip that allows you to pull off the old strut from its ball joint but many cars don’t have that clip and the ball joint is permanently attached to the strut so you need a little open end wrench to take it off.
Luckily, this new set had new ball joints with it which easily screwed in. It was an easy quick job when I realized if I don’t see a clip then I have to unscrew the ball from the hood. The one thing you need to get is for washers to replace the washers that are on the original ball joint bolts and wouldn’t come off to be reused
