Fit my wife’s 2004 G35 6MT sedan w/o any issues, solving code P2138 (throttle/accelerator pedal position sensor failure, whose typical symptoms include three illuminated warning lights – Check Engine, SLIP, and VDC off). When this sensor fails, the ECM force engages LIMP MODE, drastically reducing power. This replacement sensor fixes the problem; you will have to clear the code (via an OBD II reader) just follow the reader’s instructions upon restarting.
Overall, it’s an easy and inexpensive fix. Remove the accelerator pedal assembly as a unit (two 10mm flanged nuts).
Disconnect the wiring harness cap. Carefully mark the position of the old sensor on its mount/bracket–the replacement is to be installed in exactly the same orientation (two Philips screws). Reinstall the harness cap on the replacement sensor; reinstall pedal bracket assembly. Start engine (still in LIMP MODE); follow OBD II instructions to clear codes. Upon restarting, warning lights should be out and the ECM in normal mode. Test drive, and be prepared to smile.
