I ordered these rear trunk support struts for my 2012 Chevrolet Malibu because my original struts had lost their charge. I was getting tired of having the trunk lid drop on my head. I checked the fitment as suggested before placing my order.
These struts are identical to the factory struts in every respect. Installation was a breeze, and my trunk lid functions like when the car was new. I will have no more headaches (literally).
While I can’t provide a durability rating at this point, I have high hopes for these struts. My original struts lasted over ten years, and I see no reason why these wouldn’t match that longevity. Only time will tell, but I’m optimistic about their performance.
Overall, I am very satisfied with these rear trunk support struts. If your trunk lid is not staying up as it should, I encourage you to consider these struts before making a purchase decision.

These struts came well packaged and seem well built and work as designed.
I chose these for their length and hoped they would work as direct replacements for my knapheide service truck top box lid supports.
The rod end sockets are 10mm and would snap right on. The sockets on the cylinder ends are smaller than the standard 10mm connection on the rod end, so I was unable to put them to use. The socket ends screw off and are replaceable though, so maybe I’ll be able to find compatible ends and swap those provided.
Fit and finish look superb, and they are packaged safely in a cardboard box and bagged.
I expect they’d work well in their designed application on a Malibu.
