This Claybar is a little bit more coarse in abrasiveness then your typical Detailing clay bar. It requires a lubricant such as a dpray-on detailing dressing sold by most of the name brand detailers. I used this bar to lightly rub out some surface painting scratches that had not gone through and found it, especially useful for removing heavy surface contaminants such as the orange iron deposits visible in my white paint. I would recommend that novices especially go lightly with this clay.

Not sure I’ve ever had issues with detailing clay in the past this seems to be comparable to the McGuire’s clay I’ve used before. I’ll have to give it more time and use to see how it holds up long-term but gets the job done.

I have a truck that has been neglected for the last few years. This clay bar made quick and easy work of all of the embedded contaminants in the paint. The case that is comes in is also really cool. The only thing I don’t like is that it is grey. Makes some of the contaminants less obvious and hard to tell when you have to fold it into itself as time goes on as the whole clay bar just becomes darker gray.

I knew the GYEON name from high end detailing products, but had never used one so I was excited to try this out. Clay bars are great for cleaning the spots that the usual wash rag or mitt can’t get. It provides the closest cleaning prior to paint correction or waxing. This clay bar works great as expected.

I used this clay bar on this 2004 4Runner which hasn’t been detailed in many years, the coarse clay bar was perfect to remove those heavy imperfections that the clay towels couldn’t quite cut through as fast. Followed up with a cutting / polishing cycle the paint looked great. Worked just as it needed to!

I love the Gyeon line of products and this is no different. This is the more aggressive clay bar made for more contaminated surfaces.
The clay is soft out of the box. I could easily cut pieces off since I dont use the whole brick at once. I liked to separate the used and the new clay inside the container after I am done using it.

Initial Unboxing:
The products come in a plastic packaging. This includes 1 clay bar.
Using the Product(s):
Wash your car with car soap and use an iron remover before using. Rinse all of it away. I would recommend doing this, which is to break off half of a clay bar. Get some clay bar lubricators on the clay bar and paint. In this case, I would use car soap since it allows the clay bar to slide on the paint without spending extra money on a dedicated clay bar lubricant. Work on half a panel at a time moving side to side. Fold into another side as needed if you see there are a lot of contaminants accumulated. Remember to have lubrication on the paint to prevent marring. Never drop this clay bar since it will pick up debris on the ground. If you do drop it, dispose of that clay bar, take a new one, and be more careful with that one. Rinse the entire car completely with soap or lubrication and wax or apply some protection afterward.
These clay bars have been working quite well to remove the contaminants with very few issues. It is not the softest clay bar I have used, but I don’t find it to be a huge issue for me. You can definitely clay bar an entire car with just half a clay bar which I have done multiple times.

The process of “claying” a car has changed a lot the last few years, with the introduction of synthetic clay mitts, bars, etc. It seems every brand has their own take on how to “clay faster and easier.”
Despite all of that, if you have contaminated paint, a clay bar is still the best way to remove all of the grit from your paint.
Gyeon’s clay line is unique in that there are different grades of clay, each with its own level of aggressiveness, if you will. This Coarse EVO clay is intended for heavy decontamination, and is exactly what I needed for my three year old SUV, which has gotten very little love so far in its life.
This clay is very pliable and easy to work, unlike others I’ve used. It tears apart easily, and folds over with little effort to expose a clean side.
I noticed minimal marring after using this clay, but that’s no concern as I need to correct this paint to remove swirl marks anyway.
According to Gyeon, this new formula is chemical resistant, so it can used with Gyeon’s Tar and Iron products, so you can clay while also chemically decontaminating your paint, rather than having to do those steps separately.
Watch the instructional video, don’t use the whole block at once, and be sure to spray some lube in the storage case before you put the clay away so it doesn’t dry out before the next time.
Totally satisfied, this is the best clay I’ve used yet.
