Ordered this GSP NCV23576 for a 1999 VW Passat, GLS, 1.8l turbo, automatic transmission, 2wd, and it did not fit. ~30mm dia. 38 splines vs. 26.5mm dia. 33 spline old/existing.
The correct part for me was GSP NCV23590 which has 33 splines.
Amazon indicated both would fit, but the splined axle end is much bigger on the 38 vs. 33 spline and will NOT fit into the wheel bearing.

Was surprised it fit. I have ordered GSP brand cv axles in the past and they’re usually wrong since Audi/VW have so many variation between engine displacement and or transmission type the cv axle is always different.

Quality seems fine and the install on my 2004 Passat wagon was fairly smooth. The only “issue” was that the supplied hub bolt was not a hex/allen bolt like the original. Have had the car up to highway speeds without vibration.

Did not fit the 1999 vw passat as stated and too expensive to return

Old axle quit after 35,500 miles. Outer boot broke and grease all over.
UPS delivered it at 8:55 pm and I had to get to NYC for a wedding the next day by 3 pm 200 miles away.
Well after getting it and installing it as I had already removed the bad axle I put it in and packed the car and showered and was on the road at 11:20 pm.
Unfortunately the left axle started leaking too and the tire was coming apart as well but we made it home. Look to my left axle review for the rest of the story. It’s bad.

Piece of garbage. Specs incorrect , correct size when compressed when extended the splines are too short, clearly a poor reproduction of 5he original. Paid labor twice for th same job and car was tied up extra day
