This was for the noisy blower in my 2003 Cadillac Deville. The box says made in USA. The fan has a sticker that says made in Vietnam. The original says made in Korea. The original is metal, the new one is plastic. Installation was super easy. You remove a knee bolster trim panel, and you are looking at the blower at the far right, under the dash. Move a couple of wires/connectors aside. There is an air tube to cool the motor; remove this. One electrical connector on the fan; remove. Three screws come out, and then the blower drops out. My old one looked fine. Reversing the removal steps, everything went in easily and the blower fit perfectly. No additional parts needed. The blower is absolutely quiet. On high speed all you hear is rushing air, no motor hum. I am very satisfied.

My old fan basically gave me early signs of going out…I would have to hit the dash sometimes to get it started, or take out the cabin filter and spin the fan blades by hand until they started spinning on their own..well finally after a few months of doing this the fan bit the dust and wouldn’t run at all…so I was faced with a choice…go to the dealer and wait all day and pay a ton of money for them to do it or try it myself…I decided on the latter…I ordered the fan over the holiday but the Post Office had multiple delays..delaying it until Monday. So instead of having a warm weekend day to work I had to put it in after work on a dark, rainy cold day. Nonetheless the procedure is simple…take off the panel on the passenger side..unhook the light…unhook another wire….unplug the hose and power connector from the old motor…remove 3 screws…it should fall out…maneuver it through the wires…and reverse the procedure for the new fan. I did it in about 30 minutes…would have been quicker if I wasn’t working in the dark! I wasn’t expecting the new motor to be way quieter but it is. The old fan had a motor hum while it was running in addition to the sound of the air moving. The new fan is silent. The only thing I hear is the sound of air moving. The new fan also seems slightly stronger. I’m very impressed. I was already considering moving completely to OEM parts instead of using the cheap offbrands that are sold at Autozone and on Amazon. This OEM fan is way more than the others….I almost took the cheap route but after reading reviews of screw holes not lining up and fans being noisy and developing squeaks etc I decided to spend the extra money and go OEM. After getting it installed and hearing how much it quieted my system I’m glad I went OEM. Hopefully this fan will last a long time! Wish I would have replaced it sooner. Didn’t realize replacement would be so simple. So if you’re debating between this fan and one of the cheap alternatives…go with this one. You won’t regret it. I installed it into a Buick Lesabre Limited…it’s a 2003. It was a direct replacement. No modifications needed. But this car has two different models of fans..which is why the title talks about a possible bracket that may be needed. That’s also why the cheap models have two different configurations….the only way to know which fan you have is to take it out and see if it has the bracket or not. Luckily mines didn’t. Don’t take the fan out until you’re ready to order the new one. Or else you will have a draft in your car coming from the passenger side! Nonetheless I’m happy to have heat in my car again! As someone else noted the original motor is metal but the new one is plastic. Nonetheless it fit perfectly

Fits a 2003 Cadillac Deville DHS perfectly. Fortunately this isn’t a difficult fan to remove as long as you can lay on your back and fit your head up under the dash. The rear screw (of the three that mount it to the chassis) is the only mildly hard one to get out, but a small socket wrench with a 2″ extension bit does the trick.
Took me maybe 15 minutes to swap it out, but I knew exactly how to do this. I had previously removed my old fan twice to clean the commutator and brushes. This model tends to crud them up so bad that it doesn’t run well.
This last time the old fan went out, it was the bearing that starting screeching, so I HAD to spend the cash on this new one.
Air blows every bit as hard and strong as the OEM.

Works great now, after the headache of having to 1) match drill 2/3 holes in the plastic using the old unit as a pattern, and 2) get fender washers with large enough OD for installation.
Update 21 Aug 2016: once again having intermittent issues with the blower cutting out.

Well, the blower is priced more than maybe a China knockoff, but you get what you pay for in quality. I decided to buy the OEM ACDelco over the others and glad I did. Product arrived very fast (thank you Prime) and installed flawlessly. 🙂 What you will notice on this model over the others is that they accommodate in the design of the product the connection to the air tube. The cheaper versions do not, they simply have a plugged spigot or nothing. Having the tube connection that accommodates the air, I see that as the ability to cool the motor during operation. I’m confident that it will be lasting quite a while more in comparison. Motor is back to a very quite operation. 🙂 Good luck out there folks, keep those cars lasting a while!

2 out if 3 tabs where the bolt holes are located cracked upon installation (and no, it was not over tightened).
Unlike every other AC Delco part I have ever purchased, this came in a plain cardboard box, not the usual AC Delco, red white and blue box, so I have my suspicions that it may not have been true OEM. However- I CANNOT PROVE THAT.
