I have a 2006 Toyota Sienna Limited, and right away the door would not slide open automatically. After doing several searches online, I discovered that the sliding door actuator is a common problem in Siennas. After watching a video on how to install, I ordered this part. I would highly recommend you watch the video first, and make sure it is the right part for the door.
The video for the “5 dollar fix” was very helpful. He really goes through the process thoroughly. I opted to get the part, because it saved me some trouble. One of the cautions he brings up is the screw that connects the motor to the door on the inside has softer metal than it should for the tension, so you need to be very careful not to strip it. It will be tight, so be sure to apply plenty of pressure on top, and go very slowly. We were able to crack it, but in the video he stripped it, and needed to drill it out and rethread it.
I like to buy genuine parts, because yo know everything will work right, and it will cause less headaches. After we got the door disassembled, the part went in smoothly, and has worked without any issues. I hope it works!

This is the wrong part for what I need. This is just the release mechanism. Diagram is misleading. This is not the whole side door mechanism, i.e., motors, release mechanisms, etc. I thought the price was too good to be true and it is. I need to do my homework better. I was going off of information I gleaned from a Youtube video about changing out the side door mechanism. You cannot rely on the diagram that is listed with this part. You need to do further research. I am having to return the part (85620-08061) and start over.

followed the youtube instructions on how to install and it was a breeze. just be careful not to drop the 10 nut (use tape on the end of your socket wrench). the part works excellent 🙂

For the left Side, I swapped out the motor inside this actuator for $5. On the left side, we tried to open the door so many time, the gears mechanism was not working..so I will use this new unit for the Passenger side..even with spending almost $100 for this unit, the whole fix costs WAY LESS than the $1000/PER DOOR I was quoted from Toyota dealer…

Direct fit and fixed the problem with the door. Used a little bit of heat in order to not strip the existing screws (they are held in with Loctite). Found out later, however, that the little motor within is the root cause and its only $5 to replace. Wish I would have done that.

Find the right dc motor and your problem is fixed, this actuator is really over priced for the internal parts 2 plastic gears and a dc motor encased in plastic mold w/ grease. but hey it beats Toyota, they wont even sale the actuator just the whole panel with time consuming cables for hundreds of $$$.
