Perfect fit and fix for my 2009 Yukon

Replaced factory oil pressure sensor after guage on the dash stopped work and threw a DTC. This part can be replaced without disassembly of the top of the engine but it will be difficult. Oil sensor did not work immediately after replacing. I cleared the DTCs and it worked immediately after starting the engine again.
You will need to disconnect fuel line from fuel rail using fuel line removal tool disconnect vent hose from valve cover to make some space to work. The electrical connection on the sensor was turned toward the front of the vehicle so i wasn’t able to remove by hand. I used tools to remove the plastic stop and ended up breaking the piece that prevents to accidental removal. I pushed the sound guard, at the back of the engine, toward the firewall and was able to see the plastic piece and use a long flathead to remove the plastic stop. after this piece was removed, i was able to disconnect the hardness. You will need an oil sensor socket, swivel and extension for your ratchet.

After 100k miles oil sensor failed on vehicle constantly read 80 psi even with engine off. I purchase this sensor against online advice stating the OEM sensor seemed unreliable. I went ahead and purchased this sensor trusting OEM part over aftermarket options. It should be noted that there are additional costs with this replacement, you have to remove the intake manifold to get to the part and the gaskets cost around $80 not to mention the half plus day of effort to complete this task, or you could always take it to a dealership.
I was afraid of a potential failure of an aftermarket part because of the difficulty of the task of replacing. With confidence in my purchase of an OEM part I accepted the challenge and time commitment. After a long day, and unforeseen issues along the way, this new sensor was installed. I started my vehicle and when everything checked out, I was proud of my accomplishment. Not nearly two weeks and less than 1000 miles THE F¥@ING SENSOR FAILED!!!! NOW I HAVE TO EITHER PAY A REPAIR SHOP TO REPLACE IT, OR DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN. EVEN IF I DO THIS AGAIN, I HAVE TO REPLACE THE GASKET AGAIN SINCE IT WILL NOT BE REUSABLE.
