I kept getting a check engine light on my 2013 Hyundai Elantra. According to my code reader, the problem was a faulty MAP sensor.
I wasn’t too sure what it was, what it did, or how to install it but I ordered the part anyway. As tempted as I was to order an aftermarket, I went with an OEM from Big Tiger because I had purchased from them before and had an excellent buying experience. In addition to this, I know they are a South Korean company and I was more likely to receive a genuine OEM instead of a fake.
Shipment was through Amazon and the part was here in two-days. Installation was easy. One bolt. One wire. However, unless you have small hands, there is another part you should remove first to make it easier. I forget what it is called. Some sort of vacuum thing but it is one 10mm nut to remove and makes the process so much easier. Youtube has a video for the whole process.
Now all I was expecting from this new MAP sensor was for the check engine light to go out and it did. However, what I got was much better performance overall. I mean this car now idles smoothly, has much more acceleration, and purrs like a kitten. I was shocked. All the things we used to expect from an old tune-up was right here in a $30 sensor. I am kicking myself for not discovering this sooner.
Anyhow, big shout out to Big Tiger for their excellent service in helping me get my car back on the road quickly and inexpensively.

I posted a photo of the part, the box and a photo of the original part in a Kia Soul. Clearly the part sold as OEM is a aftermarket knock off. There are no labels and it does not say Kia or Kefico. To be OEM it must have this label like the original. The box it came in has labels on it to mark out the Kia label and the box was torn up so who knows what part came in the box that was re-used.
