I’m not a mechanic by any stretch, this was the biggest job I ever tried on my Toyota Sienna 2005. But with the toyota repair manual and some youtube video I was able to do the job, ran into some issues (stuck bolts on the engine brackets) so that added a lot of time, but otherwise not such a bad job just takes a lot of time, and getting the timing right was a little nerve racking, but these parts seemed great and did a great job, perfect fit for my car and seem like they will last a long time (90,000 miles hopefully!). Hopefully seem like good products when they were placed on, I’ll update if anything goes wrong.

The last time I bought this kit was 8 years ago and thousands of miles. I highly recommend this kit, it’s a good deal! I know from experience.

Everything is well made, and there are top dead center marks for the cams – this made confirming the timing much easier especially since it’s hard to see the rear cam alignment without a scope camera – just had to make sure the crankshaft and front cam are on TDC, and make sure the line is on the TDC indicator for both cams and it will line up perfectly.

Bought and installed this timing belt kit for somebody at church. Installation went smoothly with all components fitting properly seeming to be a pretty good quality. I didn’t hear any noises from any of the components after putting it together and running the engine. The belt tensioner seem to run smoothly when installed. Hopefully they will perform well and last a long time keeping the engine running smooth for him.

Ok, this kit came with everything to do a proper timing belt replacement, including the water pump. Don’t waste your time replacing the timing belt without replacing the water pump and everything else that comes in this kit. This is a project for an experience DIYer, and not for the faint of heart. This Toyota engine is an interference engine, and if you do it wrong you can ruin the engine. Also, you will likely need a few specialty tools. Make sure you have everything you need before starting. I replaced my timing belt a year and half ago, and everything is still running fine. I was way over due because we purchase a used vehicle that never had proper, scheduled maintenance done. Doing this myself with this kit saved me money and breathed new life into our vehicle.

Excellent so far. 2005 Toyota Highlander engine is now running smooth as butter with 134,000 on it.
At 134,000 it definitely needed it. It was making some weird noises, etc before this kit install. Now it’s like brand new engine. Also replaced the other two belts along with this kit. My Highlander was driven hard and put away wet by the previous owner. What a cheapskate he was but a testament to Toyota. At 134K, and 10 years old, still had factory original EVERYTHING! Both cabin and engine air filters, all fluids except occasional oil change, and even the headlight bulbs of which were bubbled out the sides, and blackened – original. All original belts, struts, brake rotors, spark plugs, even the freaking wiper blades for crying out loud !!! I’m replacing everything. Hoping to get another 134K out of my Toyota Limited Highlander.

I am giving 5 stars based on it’s quality and it’s value for money.
Timing Belt is made by Gates – Quality is time proven, Belt is in noway inferior than OEM, Mitsuboshi;
Bearings & Idlers – Made in Japan, NOK logo on them; OEM. This is what TOYOTA uses;
Tension – Again, NSK/NOK; It’s OEM. Made in Japan;
Water Pump – No name brand; Made in China; Built quality is same as OEM (AISIN); However I would change it every 80K; Use only recommended Coolant.
Overall for around one hundred dollars, This is the best you can get;
DO NOT get ripped by dealer; Get them from Amazon.
