If you are expecting a product that was made in China, you may be disappointed; my cap was made in the USA. I had been warned that a Toyota is notoriously sensitive to its gas gap, and to only use an OEM replacement part. But Gates is a highly respected manufacturer of rubber parts, and probably made the aftermarket hoses and accessory belt that your mechanic uses. So when I repeatedly got a Code 442 (minor evap leak) and the “Vaseline on the rubber seal trick” didn’t help, I decided that this cap was worth a try. Problem solved – would definitely recommend and would buy again if ever necessary. It’s a cheap and quick DIY fix.

This is a reasonably priced replacement for my Vibe’s OEM gas cap. The original would no longer seal and was causing ‘Check Engine” warnings. The new cap did the trick. It seals and no more codes. As described, the cap does not come with a tether but sits quite satisfactorily in the holder on the inside of the filler door.

I didn’t realize that this cap comes without a string that attaches to the gas cover door. So, it’s a bit of an inconvenience since you can’t easily hang the cup on that door. Other than that, it’s just a gas cup and appears to do the job.

I had code PO 441 on my 2003 toyota camry. I did some research on the internet and found that first and easiest thing I should do is to replace the fuel cap. I ordered this cap and replaced. It is now more than couple of weeks and so far so good. Looks like it is working. Product is direct replacement and it is working. It could have been much if the manufacturer ha also attached a string so that it can not get lost.

Ignore the price when you need a gas cap because my check engine light came on in my car. That’s when you dread finding out the results. When I had AutoZone check it, it said to replace the gas cap. I didn’t need an expensive or fancy one. As soon as put it on, a few start-ups of my car, the light went off. I’d recommend this gas cap for sure. Basic doesn’t mean won’t work.

Quality and fitment is next to OEM but not the cost of an OEM unit. My only complaint, if you can call it a complaint, i wish it was design like the OEM unit where it has the string or cord that is attached to the gas cap and door. Other than that, I am a happy camper with the replacement.

This cap was a replacement for my 2005 Toyota Tundra 4.7 L V8 truck and it was a perfect fit. My check engine light now goes off and stays off, unless of course I do actually have a malfunction .

This thing clicks like it’s locking down and then just unscrews with literally no resistance. Or vibrates itself loose. Have to buy a different one.
