I put this kit onto a 2010 Equinox 2.4L when I heard noises around the timing cover. This kit includes a water pump that mounts to the factory spots, so I didn’t have to try and hunt down extra parts. The chain tensioner engaged nice and firm, and pretty much eliminated engine noise. I installed this kit as part of a standard service interval, and didn’t make any other adjustments after the initial setup, and it has kept all oil leaks controlled.

Complicated timing on this little engine had me scared of doing the timing chain myself until I had the chance to get this kit and so I dug in. On a Terrain there is a small enough engine bay that stuff is in the way when getting to the timing cover and getting it off, but after that the work is easy. Don’t forget to lock your CAMS in the correct position and follow the instructions from videos (not the printed ones included, usually). Everything is included and I am impressed with the strength of chain and also the quality.
