The cap works like new, had to reuse the old tether as the button on the gas door was way to big for the new grommet ring,

Lost the cap to Scion Xb because the lanyard on the old cap broke and forgot the cap at some gas station somewhere. The lanyard on this new one doesn’t fit the hole it is supposed to attach to so I suspect I will lose this one at some point as well.

Bought this to fix a leaking gas cap – O ring had cracked on the old one, resulting in check engine light on our older Lexus RX300. So far so good. One complaint. The tab on the fastener was too small. I ended up just removing the fastener and not using it.

I bought this because I had a check engine light on for emissions and the first thing to try was replacing the gas cap. So I put this cap on and the check engine light was still on. I took my car to the repair shop and after $350 in diagnosis fees found that this cap did not seal properly. I bought the $40 dealer cap and the check engine light went off. Save your money and by a dealer cap first – it’s worth the few extra bucks.

This was a difficult item to find as the car was only made a short time many years ago. The fact that I could get it in just two days was a real bonus since I was driving around with aluminum foil for a gas cap in the meantime. I picked it up from my package delivery box and installed it in the car in minutes. (And I am an 88 year old lady. )
