The engine light came on in my 2002 Honda Civic and when I attached my code reader it gave me a P1456 code EVAP leakage. So I read online that it was most likely the gas cap. I found this one on Amazon and when I installed it and turned on the car the engine light did not turn on, success!

This fits my Honda Civic, but it is VERY hard to remove when I go to get gas. The cap is made of very hard plastic with rough edges, so when it is cold especially, I have to find a towel or some other fabric to put over it so I can even grip it hard enough to turn it. A couple times I almost had to find someone to help me get it off! You can definitely tell it isn’t the original gas cap.

It looks just like the factory cap but my emissions light did not went off until I gave up and paid full price for a Genuine Honda cap. This was on a 2001 Civic EX with Vtec.

Seems to work fine but dang is it hard to get off. Nearly need two hands to unscrew it, oem was not like this.
After 2 years of use it is much easier to unscrew.
