When my check engine light went on along with the ABS and TRAC control lights, I plugged in an ODBC reader and saw the PO245 code pop up. After a quick internet search I found that I might have a pressurization leak due to a bad fuel cap. My gas cap was old and had been clicked more than “1-click” on more than one occasion. So I bought this one. It was easy to replace and was exactly like the original – even the strap to attach to the fuel door. So now it’s been several weeks since installation and that PO245 code never come back.

Havent had an evap code or other check engine issues.
8 months down and its been through a heatwave and frigid negative winter. No issues, fits and seals well.
Unsure of longer term quality but will update if item fails eventually.

I read that the check engine and traction dashboard warning light can be triggered by a loose gas cap. Also saw a bunch of youtube videos about this. My cap wasn’t on tight so I fixed that but the light still remained. My car is over 10 years old so I figured as a last attempt I would swap out the gas cap.
I replaced the gas cap and drove around for a day. The check engine and traction warning lights turned off.
