I ordered the gas cap and thought it would fix my error light on the dash that said “gas cap”. It did not fix the error light. The cap does fit my vehicle as indicated compatible online.

The original gas cap on my 2010 Wrangler has had issues for a couple of years. It occasionally throws codes because it’s not sealing properly. I tried cleaning the o-ring on it, but that didn’t seem to help. This replacement cap looks like a stock item and fits well. I did take a file to the end of the plastic lead line to facilitate installation. The Jeep is not throwing any codes and this cap looks better than my old faded one.

Update: less than a year and the o-ring is already cracking and I’m getting the code again.
My Jeep is throwing a check engine code P0456. The first thing everyone says to replace is the gas cap. I replaced it in less than 30 seconds. After clearing the code and driving my Jeep around the block the code came back. So this didn’t fix my issue but the old gas cap did feel loose so I’ll just leave the new one on and keep the old one as a back-up. This is a good replacement.
