So far so good, I can literally hear the air compress out when I take the cap off. Now I just need to wait for the engine light to go off for the (emissions small leak) code. Even if it doesn’t go off, I needed the new cap when you compare the old vs new.

The lanyard is very short making it difficult to position the cap and have the connector stay seated in the receiver on the car. Audi A5 coupe, 2019

I did not have evaporative engine light ( code) on. I Just purchased this because my fuel cap was not clicking anymore and did not want the light come on in future. Put this new one on which BTW doesn’t click either and 2 days later engine light came on. I put my own original fuel cap on and engine light disappeared. Proof perfect that this cap is just garbage.

The check engine light came on in my 2014 Audi Q5. OBD2 scanner gave me the DTC code P0456 indicating that there was a small leak in the EVAP system. A common cause and relatively simple fix for this is to replace the fuel cap. So, I purchased and installed this cap, but the code never cleared. I ended up having to take my car in to a mechanic and they determined that there was a defect in the leak detection pump, so I had this replaced. Many miles later, the DTC code still had not cleared. I ended up switching the fuel cap back to the original one which is now 10 years old, and lo and behold, the code soon cleared and I was able to pass my state emissions test. Long story short, this fuel cap is junk, at least for this particular vehicle model.
