I was getting an engine warning light which often is a gas cap not on properly or losing its seal so it cannot pressurize the fuel tank, I decided to order a new gas cap and this one was identical to the factory cap on my 2015 KIA Optima and 1/5th of the dealers price. I have had it on for 6 months without the engine light coming on. Very pleased with my purchase.

Purchased this gas cap to solve a P0442(small EVAP leak). After replacement, code was still present after many miles of driving. Decided to start replacing other parts down the line. Found out in the end that this cap which IS compatible with my car was defective. Spent money on other parts to find out that the “new” compatible gas cap was JUNK ! I found this out after replacing it again with another gas cap from another seller. So, it was too late to return part. I could find no formal way to test the gas cap without spending lots of money for a tester.
I have been working on cars since the 1980’s and know a lot about old and new cars. So, I am very mechanically inclined.
Update: I am a bit confused. On the site it says “1 Year Warranty …” , but it also says with in 30 days refund or replacement. So, which is it ? Also, nobody contacted me regarding my review/complaint on the defective part. What gives Amazon and Seller ? Do you really care ? Horrible customer service on both sides for not following up on my complaint.

Perfect fit. Exactly similar to the original gas tank cover. The old cover broke, I think that I was too rough on it, opening and tightening. Check engine light can come on if the gas cover is not properly closed, so I kept tightening the cover until it broke. The cover was not the cause of Check Engine, the light went away after I added some fuel line and Fuel Injector cleaning fluid into the gas tank

My car was giving off a code the I need to check my vape system so I did the research 1st thing it suggested replace gas cap!
I popped old one off an popped the new one in the retaining cable simple to do didn’t take long but after the 3rd fill up my new cap quit clicking when putting it on after fill up witch is what my old one did! For almost 7 years my car has not given off another code yet so we’re going to roll with it!

Aside from the typos in spelling on the cap, the cap is identical to the original. The check engine light (P0456) on my wifes 2019 Kia Soul, cleared after 2 days of driving using the new cap and has not returned.
