My MY2000 S2000 generated a check engine light for evaporative emissions failure. This is usually due to the gas cap not sealing and that day it was the coldest day of the Fall so far. So I have assumed it’s the cap’ rubber seal finally not sealing when cold – the car is 24 years old now. The new cap fits perfectly and so far no new codes. Time will tell as the temperature here in Colorado goes down as we head into winter.
