The cap itself serves the purpose. But, the ring around the cap that attaches the tether does not spin freely. So, when you try to screw the cap on, the tether wraps around the cap and binds up. This makes it pretty irritating as you have to use two hands to both hold the tether ring and screw on the cap each time.

This cap was purchased to replace the one that was lost on my FedEx truck. It actually snaps in place better than the old one. I think it’s going to last a while. Can’t go wrong with this cap at all.

I have a E350 ford van and this was not even close but it just so happens it fit my 2004 Subaru Forester and the tether came off during installation too.
