There isn’t anything wrong with the product (hence the 4-stars), but I’m writing a review to warn you that it WILL NOT FIT all the vehicles that Amazon claims it will using their “Will it fit” tool. I think Chevrolet stopped making the cab filter replaceable around 2005….could be off a couple years, BUT it DOES NOT FIT my 2006 Silverado 1500LT because there is no way to access where it should go. The ducting is still the same, GM just decided not to put an access door in and so now it is a solid piece with no access. So before you decide to buy this, go out and physically verify that you do, in fact, have access to where it will ultimately go.
Update 7/20/2016: Just thought I’d put it out there, again, that you (the consumer) are responsible for making certain that you order the correct product. While Amazon makes every attempt to verify fitment, they are NOT the OEM manufacturer. Before you buy a FRAM filter I would recommend that you consult the FRAM fitment guide on their website. Amazing that someone who doesn’t even know if their vehicle HAS an in cab filtration system would buy it and then give it a 1-star rating. Following that logic I should buy a spare tire cover for my motorcycle and then give it 1-star because my motorcycle doesn’t have a spare tire.

Just to let others know, some years of GM SUV’s do not have an opening for a filter but if you buy a filter cover plate, cut out the recommended opening and use THIS filter it fits perfectly in place. I did the modification to my 2004 Suburban by cutting out the recommended hole, installed this filter, then adding the filter plate and this filter works and fits great and the air is so much cleaner then without, smells a whole lot better as well. I would buy it again to now replace the filter mod I added to my Suburban.

I own a 2004 Z71 Chevy Suburban. Amazon stated that this cabin filter would fit my car. This is partly true. In 2004 and possibly later Chevy changed the duct work for the AC system. Up to 2003 the duct work had a removable door for the air filter. In 2004 they did not install an air filter or a removable door. Chevy left a place in the duct work for a filter but instead of a door they glued a piece of plastic over the opening with no filter installed.
I found a video on YouTube showing how to modify your duct work to install a filter. Once the piece of plastic is removed you need a Dorman 259-100 door cover. It is listed as a suggested item with this filter, not required! You will need this cover if your Chevy is newer than 2003.

This idem does not fit my 03 Chevy suburban originally. it was not equipped with a replaceable filter however the blank spot is there, under the glove box directly after the blower. if you cut the rectangular (short side) with a dremel cutting wheel where the filter would go, making a small door with the piece cut off the filter slides directly up in the blank area. I use good quality tape to put the small door back on and hold it in place, It also acts as a clean out when replacing the filter – I’m on my second one. It makes a very big difference in air quality and smells — Highly Recommended!

The price was a little high. But it seemed like good quality. Paid a little more for it, seems to be worth it.
