When tank full, on sidestand, damn thing leaked. Went to dealership and lucky me,it was in stock. Put factory replacement gasket in. No leaks. You figure it out.

So far, so good. The factory seal leaked. The original version without the upgrade leaked. This aftermarket unit is holding so far. There’s a torque pattern and torque that MUST be followed or this will cause a leak, too. I knocked off a star because this seal does not come with new screws which must be replaced because they are a use once and replace item. They don’t even offer the screws, so I had to visit a dealer to get them. If this came with screws or they offered them for sale I would have given this seal 5 stars.
4 months later and still no leaks. I’ll follow up again in a couple of month.

I put this on a 2008 Harley Davidson Softail Custom (FXSTC) after changing the fuel filter. Fit was perfect. The re-enforced eyelets were ok. I don’t know exactly how much of a benefit they are so it gets the 4 star rating. The plate has 10 screws around it so I think that distributes the pressure pretty well. The only way to test this is to lay the bike down…and I won’t be doing that intentionally.
UPDATED: 03/17/20 Well….remember those metal re-enforced eyelets? Yeah….they were trying to solve a problem that DID NOT EXIST! Instead…they created a problem. Filled the tank up full….parked it for a day or so….and now I have gas leaking down the side of the tank. I torqued the screws to specs on install. So, today, I used my driver and cranked down on them in the proper order by hand. The screws used to secure the top-plate have plastic sleeves on them to form a seal….do these guys know this??? So, pretty much…if its still leaks…I will downgrade this seal down to total crap from the crap rating I give it now. The screws are $10/set…so this will cost me another set of screws and another seal. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this product at all.
UPDATE II: 03/20/20 It still leaked with twice the recommended inch-pounds (40). I replaced with the “standard” non-grometted rubber seal from Dennis Kirk. The DK seal was thicker and a bit stiffer. No leaks after filling the tank and letting it sit. Bottom line….this is NOT the recommended OEM nor is it a good replacement. Downngraded to 1 star. Saving $6 cost me $28 for a new seal and screwset (yes….you need to replace the screws…they are one-time use only).

LOOKS LIKE A GOOD QUALITY GASKET. HAVEN’T HAD A CHANCE TO INSTALL IT YET. DON’T EXPECT AN ISSUES WITH GASKET.

This seal was beyond the quality I expected for the price. Direct fit for an 07 Softail and 3times the quality of the last three (including the original). I can not say enough how happy I am, or how happy my Harley is.
