First, let me say that the value of this PPF is great. I got it for 27 dollars and it includes not only the PPF for the rear door problem spots (where rock chips seem to be the most problematic) but also two more for the front door area. All of the other PPF products that I looked at only provided coverage for the rear door area.
The PPF strips came well packaged — rolled up with a bottle and small squeegee tool. Basically everything you need to install the PPF sans the “prep” stuff (cleaning stuff for the door sections) and a dry micro fiber towel for wiping the excess water/soap mix you’ll need to use to install the PPF.
Install — first start by cleaning the doors. I just washed my entire car to be safe that dirt doesn’t somehow fall to the bottom part of the door panel. Next, fill the water bottle with water and dish soap (about a 90/10% mix I did). After that I started with the small strip on the passenger side which goes right in front of the passenger door panel to cover the paint area right next to the wheel well. I did this because I never installed PPF before and I figured if I was going to learn (and possibly mess up) I could do so on an area of the car that I will not see much of (I’m the primary driver) and it is small enough to not cause problems.
Install of small strip was really easy. Just spray the water/soap mix on the panel on the car and then spray the front of the PPF. Then SLOWLY remove the backing of the PPF and spray the back of the PPF with the water/soap mix as you go. After you have the backing of the PPF fully removed then you apply it to the panel section (don’t worry about the bubbles). Next align the edges of the PPF to the edges of the car panel. Once you have the PPF centered then you can start to squeegeeing by slowly pushing out the water/soap mix on one of the edges of the PPF (use your other hand to keep the PPF in place as you go). Once you finish one edge work the squeegee on another edge. After that you can start working the center to the edges with the squeegee as the PPF should now be enough “in place” and holding to do that. During this process you will want to have a micro fiber towel handy to wipe the excess water/soap mix that will come out from behind the PPF. Once you think you are done DON’T move on. Take a flash light or the flash light app on your phone to look over the PPF. Get on your hands and knees to do this so you can see the bubbles that you missed (and, yes, you’ll likely miss a few). Once I saw a bubble I just used the squeegee to push it out. This process took about as long as the initial install but it is worth it.
After that I moved onto the PPF on the passenger’s side door doing the same process as I described above. Then I turned to the passenger’s side rear door. The rear door PPF is bigger but the same process worked for me. I then did the same to install the driver’s side PPFs. My final step was to look one more time at each PPF section with my flash light to double check there was no bubbling.
I uploaded four different pictures where I was trying to find angles to show the edge of the PPF section. Honestly when you are just walking around the car it is nearly impossible to see the PPF sections.
Overall, I was happy with the provided PPF and install tools. Time will tell how it holds up but so far so good.

The ppf went on without a hitch. The only problem was not labeling on the pieces. You had to figure it out yourself.

The ones I was sent do not fit 2024 model Y. They did not have the correct angle to fit around the wheel.

Really great value, Wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Be sure to clean your surface really good and you can install these without experience in a matter of minutes. They appear to adequately cover the problem areas and once installed you hardly notice they are there.

One recommendation if you like to work on your car – and will either do some ceramic coating or something other than installing these PPF protectors – get a mechanics chair – that way you will have a seat with wheels and will be able to more easily work on the lower part of any vehicle.
Even though I have mud flaps on the Tesla Model Y, I still decided to install these well-cut PPF protectors. The value is fantastic – it includes precut pieces for the front, rear, and door areas, which provides comprehensive protection for the most vulnerable parts of the car.
The installation process was straightforward, even for a first-timer like me. The kit comes with everything you need – the PPF pieces, a spray bottle, and a squeegee. Following the instructions carefully, I was able to get the PPF applied smoothly without any major issues. The key is to take your time, thoroughly clean the surfaces first, and use the soapy water solution to help position the PPF properly. Do not be stingy with the soapy water – it is easier to get the water out than it is to rip or stretch a dry piece of PPF.
Once installed, the PPF is virtually invisible (see pictures). It blends in seamlessly with the car’s paint and you can hardly tell it’s there. You would never even know if you had the whole car in PPF, and getting this done so well has made me more easy about moving on to larger PPF protection projects – it has been weeks and the pieces still look like they were just installed.
Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with this FDAIUN PPF kit. The price is fantastic, the coverage is comprehensive, and the installation, while requiring some patience, is totally doable for the average person with some interest. Highly recommend this product to any Tesla Model Y owner looking for an affordable and effective paint protection solution.

I have used PPF before but this one was hard to install and once it was installed looked crappy and hazy. Also the quality just isn’t as good as teslas PPF. Stay away

This is great, I looked at the reviews and it appears people put the front on the rear and that is the reason it did not fit as my set is a perfect fit!
