The arrow on this filter indicates direction of air flow for proper orientation. The OEM filter has an arrow and indicates arrow goes up. There is some confusion because the arrow on this filter is the opposite the direction on the OEM. In a nutshell, you just need to know that the arrow on this filter should be pointing downward when filter is installed correctly.

The cabin filter fit my Subaru 2019 Crosstrek perfectly, however the product number was not the same. I was sent JM040. Not sure if the Amazon description is incorrect or did I actually got the wrong filter… anyway it fit!
