I got this for my ’69 VW. Sometimes I may leave it sitting for extended periods of time, and the radio was draining the battery.
I also thought one of these would come in handy-when working on any wiring. I searched around a bit, and this looked like a really solid piece-which upon receipt I realized it is. It is pretty heavy duty. I would recommend it, and I plan on getting one for my other VW. There is a rubbery seal that attaches to the key. At first it appeared as though there would be no way to get this seal on the key, but after a bit of coaxing I was able to get it on. This seals against any moisture from getting inside the keyway. You will need to get a short heavy duty cable to run from your battery to the switch, and obviously a place to mount thing thing. It is not tiny.

I’d stripped out the threads on my travel trailer’s battery. I needed something to left my disconnect the power without disconnecting the cables. The “Little Switch” did the trick. First I’d like to say that not all of these types of switches come with a mounting bracket. This one does which seems like a no brainer, but in the era of “not enough dollars = not enough sense” in manufacturing you have to be careful. I’m pleased that it is also a weather resistent swicth which is also not always the case, even amount marine swicthes. The weather cap slides over the key hole when the key is out. There is also a water / dust cover the fits on the key for use when the key is “in”, however that’s a little tricky to get on. All mounting and wiring nuts and hardware has been included. So far, it’s doing it’s job, battery is holding it’s voltage just as if it was disconnected.

Excellent little switch to use for a battery cut-off in an old car you don’t use every day. Solid construction, seems well made – the only drawback was getting that rubber sealer cuff onto the key. But it finally went on and everything works well.

This is one of the few battery switches that was compact and easy to mount to the side of my travel trailer frame. It saved me from having to crawl under with a wrench to remove the battery cable. The only suggestion is they include a second key in case the only one they give you gets lost otherwise I’d give it 5 stars. I’d highly recommend it!

I BELIEVE IT’S A KNOCK OFF. NOT BRANDED, NOT THE SAME AS THE ONE PICTURED, NO CENTERED BOLT IN FRONT OF SWITCH AND DOES NOT HAVE FLAMING RIVER DECAL. PROBABLY MADE IN CHINA, A $5.00 SWITCH. WASTED $35.00.

like it a lot, buy it because it come with the mounting bracket….a little bit over price but its okay..
install it on my classic mini, as all classic british cars, it drains battery if not driven…so this battery kill switch comes very handy..
the built quality rocks, very solid, the mounting bracket are also very thick steel/iron too…happy~~~~~
the switch itself also has a smooth feeling, and turns awesome….believe me, it is good!!
it also has a feature that “hold” the key inlace when its turn off……..
anyway, it worth the price at $28..

Use this switch in my Carolina Skiff as a quick disconnect/reconnect for the battery when not in use. Works great.

There are quite a few switches out there for disconnecting the battery from the circuit, but the addition of the bracket in this package was the key to this purchase. This facilitated quick installation. I cannot speak to the life of the switch at this point, but it fulfills its charter and cuts my two marine batteries out of the circuit while my travel trailer is in storage. Construction looks to be of a quality level that I am not going to worry about the device. The price was right too!
