This gel for cleaning and dusting is an adult take on slime, in my opinion. It does make using it more fun than basic cleaning, especially when it comes to cleaning car vents.
This product needs to be stored at 72 degrees F or cooler. If it is stored in an area warmer, put it in the fridge for at least an hour before using. I had taken this outside ( in the shade )while I washed and vacuumed my car on a 85 degree day. Sadly, this gel that picks up dirt, became a gel that sticks and leaves a residue. And the residue was not easy to get off the car dash or my hands. I had to use a cleaner for my hands meant to remove grease and a silicone based car spray cleaner for the dash. The product did advise to avoid direct sunlight but wasn’t clear that temperatures over 75 degrees should be avoided for any length of time over about 15 minutes.
After getting everything back to the right temperature, the goo worked well on areas that were not easy to get to. The trade off, the dirtier the area, the more dirt is in the cleaning gel. So it does come to a point when it has picked up enough salt or sand out of the seams in the seats, console and door jam, it’s just time to pitch it and get a new one.
My rating based on the details above is 3.5 stars. When used at the right temperature, it did work well so I will round up to 4 Stars.

This is a great cleaning putty. I have used it in my car for the dust in the hard to get to places and it works great. Another great use I have found for it is getting the dust off of lamp shades, the vaccuum and duster never really worked but this putty takes the dust right up!

I’m reviewing FiveJoy 2-Pack Car Cleaning Gel, Blue & Purple, 320g/11.2oz.
This gel is effective at removing loose dust and bits. I used it on my laptop. I use a cover over my keys, so they don’t get dusty, but the gap where the hinge is to open my computer gets dusty and is hard to reach. I don’t like to use something like canned air, because I don’t want to risk pushing dust and grime down into my computer. This gel did a great job of cleaning this nook. There were a couple bits that were stuck on, so I gently rubbed them with a toothpick to loosen them and then the gel picked it right up. This section of my computer hasn’t looked this good since I bought it.
My husband also likes to detail our cars and this was great to remove dust from air vents and cup holders.
I received two 5.6 oz jars. The purple says cleaning gel and the blue says universal dust cleaning gel. They are both translucent and scentless. They appear to be the same gel in different colors. I couldn’t tell any difference using them. The description says to press it; however, I found that it’s somewhat fluid and if I let it sit a few seconds it flowed into nooks and crevices without having to press it down.
The instructions say to knead the gel for 30 seconds before use to make it more elastic and keeps residue from sticking to what is being cleaned.
This two pack came shrink wrapped together. Each one is packed into a plastic jar with a screw-on lid. The tamper-proof foil seals were intact.
At the current price of $9.99, that comes to $5.00 each which I find to be reasonable. I would buy this again.
As a side note, this FiveJoy 2-Pack Car Cleaning Gel is made in China.

I’ve never used cleaning gel but have seen it and been curious. I was worried it may leave some sort of weird or icky residue in place of the dust but that wasn’t the case! I mostly used this in my car and I do feel like it got the dust and grossness from places that are harder to clean – like vents and the small space between two cup holders. It definitely picks up dust easily and some other bigger things too which I tried to pick out. I feel like it’s much better than dusting and gets more than a wet rag would and in places a wet rag couldn’t get to!

Had for a little over a month only used once. Opened today and there is what looks like mold on top. Needless to say it is now going in the trash.

I have been intrigued by cleaning gel from the first time I saw it pop up on Amazon and finally ordered some. The two different jars are labeled slightly differently but I can’t tell a difference in use or instructions so I assume they are the same. I popped them both open to try. They come wrapped together in cellophane and then have foil seals inside along with a card telling you to knead the gel 30 seconds before using. I am not sure if this is just the first time or every time so I taped that card on top of each jar to remind me. I started first with my keyboard and it did pick up all the junk between keys along with a drip that was on one of the keys. My keyboard wasn’t gross, though, since I’m a bit of a clean freak about it. I then ran around the house pressing it on anything I could find:). For deep crevices like we had in a carving, it picks up surface stuff but without a lot of work, doesn’t get at the deeper dust. We have a mirror with a lot of texture in the frame that collects dust and I picked up a lot of dust using the gel but there was some deep and probably sticky older dust that may take a bit more work. Overall, this stuff is pretty fun. One warning though – I have a cloth surfaced pad under my keyboard (kind of like a large mouse pad) that with a few dabs of the gel was getting as clean as I’d ever seen it. Then I pressed a bit hard and the gel left a stuck on patch, ugh. It took quite a bit of rubbing, but I was able to remove it. My bad, since I think the gel is really only for hard surfaces, so don’t touch it to anything cloth or cloth-like. I am interested to see how long it lasts and how it holds up over time. I read reviews of similar products mentioning mold can be a problem, so I’ll watch for that and report back if that happens. For now, though, this seems to work as expected.
