Make sure pan flange and block flange are clean and dry. Apply a couple of dabs of sealant to hold gasket to oil pan. Then apply a continuous bead to middle of gasket and around screw holes. Carefully put pan in place, install a couple of bolts on either end, finger tight, to hold in place. Install remaining bolts and two nuts. Tighten in stages evenly from middle of pan out with final torque to seven foot pounds. (With oil pan off, take the time to remove the two 12mm bolts holding the oil pickup screen/tube. Clean the screen and tube and reinstall).

Great fit for the oil pan, Engine Oil Pan L4 1.5L 1210221010 TOP25A. Make sure to apply a line on the outline of the oil pan and then spread it with your fingers. Apply enough but don’t go over the line of the gasket inside the oil pan. No leaks so far, has been running extremely well.

Even the Felpro website is clear that the included sealant is NOT for the lower oil pan and it should NOT be used on this gasket. Just make sure the mating surfaces are clean and dry (all previous factory sealant removed) and use the gasket only with appropriate torque on the bolts (80 in lbs/6.6 ft lbs I think). Save the RTV for another use!

I’ve never installed a gasket before so idk if it is the best one on the market or anything but it holds up good especially since the package came all bent up and folded and the gasket was still in good condition and works great, comes with 2 tubes of rtvbut you really only need one, overall it’s a great product and haven’t ran into any issues yet
