I’m glad that I installed this in the proper place under the car by the starter. The ones up top that are easy to get to and look very much identical to this is called Camshaft Position Sensors where this one is called a Crankshaft Position Sensor. I can’t tell you if there is a difference or not, but I feel confident that I installed this in the right place. It removed the code it was throwing and gave me great confidence that the job was done properly. It took me a few hours of jacking up the car, climbing under to find it, getting the 8mm socket to remove the one screw and I had to find a straight screwdriver to help pop the old one out. I don’t know if it helps or not, but the sensor did twist a bit in my efforts to remove it. From the looks of the old one, this was a replacement that was well needed!
