Cheap fix for todays horrendously crappy fuel cans.

This “old school” spout is great! The “modern” spouts you are replacing with this were mandated by government regulation (Mobile Source Air Toxics Program) to be “leak proof” if you knock the gas can over. Namby Pamby governments regulators who have never seen a gas can, much less used one. The problem with this is it leaks WORSE when you try and fill up whatever you are filling up, which is a far greater hazard. Spill gas over a hot mower or motorcycle? Spill gas all over your hands? Not good.
This old school spout is also FAR BETTER for air quality, because NO gas is spilled evaporating into the air. Furthermore, there is no leftover gas hanging around in the gas can when you could not get it all out…unlike the “modern” spouts. Often people remove modern spouts after filling and pour the remaining gas in the dirt if they won’t use the gas can for a long while.
Additionally this kit comes with vents. Make sure you put them in. It GREATLY increases the flow of gas and you can empty the ALL of the can as quickly as possible. Again, no vents was part of the mandate. Boggles the mind doesn’t it?

The nozzles could perhaps be a bit longer, but are better than many. That is why I purchased these 11.2″ nozzles. If they had an even longer version (like 13-15″), then I would probably opt for it.
If your gas can does not have a vent, then gas does not flow easily out of the can because there is no vent to help create a “draft”. I used the included vents to add a vent to a bunch of new gas cans I had purchased.
These nozzles have worked quite well and it is very nice that they included a gas cap as well as fine and coarse threaded base caps. This is an overall nice set. Maybe this set could/should be a bit cheaper in price, but that would be my primary complaint. Even with that, the 3-pack for $23 is much better value than buying a 1-pack for $10.

I have several large gas cans for feeding the backup generator during power outages. The subpar “new style” ended up spilling more gas all over the place, so I’ve tried a few replacement options. This one works the best so far, plastic seems good quality and not delicious to critters (mice liked chewing in another brand for some reason). Only complaint is I wish the cap had some kind of tether built in so I don’t lose it under the snowblower if I drop it. Should be easy enough to rig up a solution once it’s warmer out there though. Really glad I went with the extended spout, less likely to spill.

Excellent fit on all of my gas cans, from plastic to metal, 1 to 5 gallons. No leaks. This is my second order, first ones have survived, shedded, through all seasons. Good quality.

I had a bunch of older gas cans, some with no covers and some with no vents. This kit worked well to fit most of the can’s. I’m glad these came with the vent caps, as that was always an issue on the older cans. This helped be to rectify that by easily drilling the holes and putting in the plugs. They tubes are a bit stiff when trying to pour fuel, but its better than nothing. And they don’t leak and that is the important thing. This was valuable purchase.
