Very impressed with the quality of the kit! I read quite a few reviews for several of the kits. Watched a couple of You Tube Videos. “Infotainment” was my favorite! Learned a lot from the reviews and videos. My 2016 Wrangler Sahara has the stock aluminum wheels and the stock touch radio with navigation. The camera bracket in the kit is a full circle, one piece and very heavy duty. I removed the large rubber washer on the spare tire mount and placed the bracket on first then replaced the rubber washer. I used a deep socket to help push the retainer washers that came in the kit onto the studs on the the spare tire mount. I then use a mini bar clamp that I put on the back side of the stud and the end of the socket to press the retainer clips on tight. (I read some reviews that said the camera mount had become loose over time but I dont think this one will the way it installs.) I removed the oval black rubber plug located to the right of the spare tire mount and carefully drilled a 1/2″ hole to feed the camera lead through. Makes a very tight fit. Fed a solid fish wire from the inside access to retrieve and pull through. Poped the plug back in. I did cut the white wires and tape so I would have the guide lines before connecting the camera lead to the harness. I taped all connections. I fed the harness through the fabric tube between the door and body. Had to do some untaping and retape. I cut some existing wire ties that are fastened to the body, pulled the cut end through and there is enough room to slide a new tie through the mount and made a clean install. To hook up the power to the camera from the included harness I removed the right rear tail light, fed the red/black wire down through the rubber grommet on the inside to the tailight cavity. Spliced the red to white/grey stripe and black to black of the factory harness just before the tail light connection. Again a little untape and retape with wire ties. This was easier for me than trying to work with little space inside the Jeep. Fed the rest of the harness along the factory harness on the inside right floor under the carpet the hole way to the dash. Had to remove and replace a couple pieces of plastic trim and used a lot of wire ties. Purchase a package of 100 black 4″ miniture wire ties, roll of black electrical tape…you’ll use them. I then used the Vgate iCar Pro Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE) OBD2 code scan/reader I ordered from Amazon as sugested by another reviewer. Got the Jscan App from the App Store and followed instructions. What an amazing tool! Four hours start to finish and the camera works great! I may have been a little to meticulous but I wanted it to look like it came that way from the factory. Thank you to the reviewers that that provided great information and help. Looking for the grommet now for my Sahara tire cover sugested by Al_Mello

We purchased this camera for our Jeep. Upon install it did not work. Tried to find a phone number to contact the company, the only way to contact them is through email. Sent an email and waited to put the Jeep all back together, hoping we would get answers and avoid taking the dash and tail lights and inside trim off for a second time. We eventually had no choice but to put everything back together to be able free up our garage and to use our vehicle again. It has been a week with no response to our request for help to get it working.
Would NOT recommend this product or company!! Terrible support and customer service!!

Nice clear picture, even at night, also setup/install was a breeze, easy install, comes with 2 different connectors/adapters for radio, will have to get the radio programmed to enable rear cam capability, since I work at a Dodge dealer, I was able to do it myself, took a good 5 minutes. Since I own a 2013Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Sahara, that Is what I’m reviewing this camera for. I don’t know if it will work with your CJ or JL.
I and my bro both bought these based on the good reviews and reasonable price. He has a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Sahara and I have the 2013 model. Both have the stock RHB head units.
Removing the dash components to get the the rear of the radio was easy to follow on this video: https://youtu.be/VtzrNJVTPl4. You’ll need a 7mm socket and small slot screwdriver for this.
Running the cable from the front to the rear was easy to follow with this video: https://youtu.be/q-9tXLerAus. BUT, what we found out was the ground was not working with the backup light cables (see around the 10:00 mark) so we grounded to the chassis on the 10mm bolt You’ll need a trim removal tool kit like this as well: https://www.amazon.com/GOOACC-Removal-No-Scratch-Dashboard-Dismantle/dp/B07V22YC9J which this is the kit I used. There is also a short pig tale red wire that is with the yellow video connector that comes from the back. We did not need this as from what I understand it is for aftermarket radios and standalone monitors of some sort. I just wrapped it in electrical tape to keep it from touching metal and in case I need it in the future.
When you go to put the video feed connector in the back of the radio, this package comes with two. We needed the on that has the two cables going to the right (looking at the back of the radio) and NOT the one in the center. Once you run your wiring and get everything hooked up, you’ll need to “flash” your RHB head unit to use it with your camera. What we did was install an iOS app called OBD JScan, each purchased a VIN (see the app for that) and then using a Bluetooth OBDII reader like this: https://www.amazon.com/Vgate-Bluetooth-Scanner-Android-Compatible/dp/B06XGB4873 you can turn on the backup camera feature. The good thing is the reader can be used between vehicles (if you have multiple Jeeps for instance) and can change other features of them as you browse the app. So for around $140 and a few hours time, you can have a decent backup camera for your Jeep.
One last thing, we found that the position for the camera is good enough to give you about 10-14” clearance when the red line is met on the parking guide for our Jeep. Your experience may differ, but check it out before bending the bracket.
