Evercoat glaze is the best. If you are serious about a quality final finish, and you need to skim coat, then this is the stuff. Lots of folks go down to the box house and buy the standard stuff that starts with “B”. Don’t do it. Use Evercoat. You will never regret, especially when you start to sand and see how easy this stuff handles.
It mixes smooth and quick, sets hard, and unlike some (cough cough) body fillers, it doesn’t ghost in six months later.
Just follow the instructions. Of course, you still have to have the right skills and tools, but Evercoat takes one problem off the list. If you are dropping thousands of dollars of topcoat on your ride, why are you scrimping on what’s underneath?
I’ve used Evercoat on many projects. It is just the best.
Five stars – no issues. My go to skim coat.

I picked up the Evercoat Body Shop 105035 Pro-Grade Glazing Putty to handle some of the finishing work on a restoration project I’ve been slowly bringing back to life. The vehicle had its fair share of small imperfections -nothing major, but enough dings, low spots, and light scratches that needed addressing to get things looking right before primer and paint. This putty turned out to be a reliable solution and value for that kind of detail work.
I work on cars as a hobby but what drew me to this product was its reputation among professionals and hobbyists alike for being easy to work with. Once mixed, the application was smooth and controllable, the smell was not harsh which is a good thing considering I’m prepping the car at home. It spreads well and fills in those shallow imperfections that are often left behind after the initial body filler and sanding stages. I found it easy to shape and blend into the surrounding area, which is especially helpful when working on more visible panels where final finish really matters.
Sanding was another strong point as this product can dry fairly quickly to get you going. After giving it proper time to cure, it sanded down without much resistance and left a clean, feathered edge that didn’t require additional filler to correct. It bonds well to metal and previously filled areas, and it’s compatible with a variety of primers and top coats, which helps streamline the workflow without second guessing compatibility issues. It also works on different materials beyond automotive panels, making it versatile enough for other small repairs such as on fiberglass, wood, plastic, aluminum and primer.
For anyone doing bodywork -whether it’s for a personal project or more regular shop tasks -this glazing putty offers a dependable option for that final surface prep before finishing. It helped me bring the panels back to a smooth, paint-ready condition with minimal fuss, which is exactly what I needed at this stage of the build.

First impressions: Nice large amount of glazing putty for filling small scratches, dents, and dings. The putty has a distinct odor to it, be sure to use it in a well ventilated area.
Installation/setup: Apply to a well prepared area for best results.
Final thoughts: I have used this sort of compound for many years, glazing compound, filler compound, and paints. The putty is best used on a very clean and prepared surface, not a speck of rust or peeling paint should be allowed to remain. I would recommend watching many videos and reading books to prepare yourself if you have never used such a thing. The hardener is best mixed in thoroughly and used immediately. Careful measuring and mixing is essential to a good result. I like this and I’m glad I got it.

This works exactly like the popular filler you find in the auto stores and discount stores – except it is a higher price. A 14 oz can of the popular brand costs $13 at a local hardware chain, but a 13 oz can of this brand is currently $18 – that’s 50% more expensive! This putty cures hard and brittle and is not flexible like some others. It would not work on a bumper for example that needs to flex a little. It works about the same except the measuring method is a bit unique according to the directions. The instructions say to make a circle of putty on one of the 3 different size circles in the instructions; then add hardener using a line under each circle. This is supposed to give you the correct ratio of putty to hardener. BUT this all depends on how viscous the putty is at the time so I’m not sure how accurate it is. I took a guess in my test and it worked fine. Based on the price though, I will stay with the popular brand.

This putty comes in handy when doing body work and home improvement alike!
Just recently I had a trim issue, where the trim piece toward the bottom was rotting/soft.
Normally I would take the entire trim piece off and put on a new one. However this trim was special made and could not be purchased. It was about 2 inches of rot, I cut it out and put a new piece of wood. Then I used this putty to match the curves and the overall design of it. It mixes well and easy to apply. It fills the groves well and during the hardening stage it is moldable. Once it hardens, it’s still easily sandable but you only have a small window before it fully cures. Once it fully cures, it still can be handed with a power tool, but takes longer.
Overall, I saved a lot of money by not having to special order trim. For home owners I would suggest this route, if you do not have power tools or the knowhow to swap out trim.
Very durable and functional! Once painted, it should last longer then the wood it replaced!
