The bolts didn’t line up with the holes in the door but I was still able to get it installed. It worked fine for about two weeks and then completely failed. When I took the door panel off to see what the problem was the wire had become unattached. I guess this is what I get for only paying $32.

Already broke after a few weeks. Tried to get a refund / replacement that is impossible using the Amazon portal.

Have had no problems with this product. If the bolt holes don’t line up and it’s got the wrong electrical connectors you got the wrong part, double check the OEM part # matches before purchasing. The later year face-lifted W124 and S124’s use this regulator*. The A124 and C124 use different ones entirely. Be sure to grease the moving bits before you install it.
*I cannot stress enough to double check the OEM part # for your car, there are two different possible options for 124 rear window regulators.

Had concerns when I unboxed the regulator. One of the nuts holding the motor assembly together was so loose it wasn’t even touching the plate it was meant to hold, and one of the mounting screws for the regulator was 1/4″ or more from being fully seated. Fixed those then installed the regulator and after a couple of up down cycles it failed. Photo shows the resulting mess on the spool.

Just installed this on my ’93 300E. Works great so far.
