Ben Padgett –
For engine protection, nothing beats a proper paper filter. Sure there are filters that claim to be higher performance, but those often allow larger debris in to score the cylinder walls. Skip the alleged 2hp gain and stick with what’s safe.
It’s also a good idea to have good lighting and be ready to vacuum out the air box while changing air filters. Don’t need leftover debris rattling around in there clogging the new filter.

I’ve been using EPAuto-branded engine and cabin air filters for years in my various Honda and Ford vehicles. I’ve found them to be a perfect fit every time and they do their job perfectly, and the price is great.
Everyone should learn how to replace their own engine and cabin air filters; the price that repair shops charge is outrageous (this comes from someone whose family business is a repair shop) and it only takes a few minutes. Just follow your manufacturer’s instructions.
